To give an illusion of voices mattering/controlled opposition*

All of the MRP admins look like they're in favour of the ban that Maia got, so I'm pretty bummed about how the enforcement environment is going to look on Manuel going forward

No can do. The Timber Train keeps rolling, next stop: some other oldmin whose jimmies I have rustled. It could be stp. It could be MSO. IT COULD EVEN BE YOU. Probably won't be rustledjimm though. That would be too poetic.

The beatings essays will continue until morale compliance improves.

Player candidates have heart, but I don't they they realize how soul crushing getting used to admin tools are. When Hulk surprise admined me to tell me he was gonna train me I thought I was going to have a full on stroke from the sensory overload. It's also really important to know you need to be good at log related things and being able to identify alts. Which also gave me a minor stroke.

uhhh kieth / timber for playervote probably

the rest of them fighting for adminvote but a player for sure is not getting it lol (drag/rave/striders13) im not an admin though so one of those goobers are going to have a better idea than me

candidates stop being looked at when people stop believing they will win.
Image

TLDR

Kieth/Timber will be who the playervote comes down

rave/striders13/drag will be who the admin vote comes down to (hopefully an admin can respond to this if im way off but this is what its looking like)

Misdoubtful/Timberposes/drag seems to be the safest guess if you had a gun to your head and needed to correctly guess the headmins today

Iain0 seems like a very, incredibly solid choice. I hope goof wins player vote. Stereo could also win player vote, which would be funny. Iain0 will probably win the admin vote.

if you ran in this election, and you want a tip to not be <600 views on your candidate post for next time

theres a reason two of the most active people on forums and discord are still so deep in the running. If you want to be taken seriously as a headmin candidate you need to become the person that you see being headmin well before the election starts.

Pretty much this.

The best headmin candidates are the ones already doing their platform.

Most of what candidates say they are going to do are things they could already be doing.

I like your analysis, but this assumes that the forum population is an accurate representation of the actual voters (which I don't think is the case).

At the end of the day it's random really lots of players will put their mid candies in a random order, my money is on timber winning though. I think I'll come around 3rd probably- but we'll see, it's an interesting election for sure.

i was doing some pondering (pic rel its me) about this for a long time since it throws a huge wrench into analyzing and you are right. There are an untold number of mystery individuals that arent accounted for who will influence the vote. However, I dont think the little timmy influence is good enough to stop either timber or kieth from taking the playervote.

In the admin vote, Rave's the one to beat due to incumbent favour.

It is strong and you really need to have a massive admin team unifier running against you (like Mothblocks) unless you massively shit the bed during your term. The devil you know, and all that.

The question always comes down to - Does the admin team want to see another 6 months of headmin Rave in appeals, complaints and adminbus?

They do have some main issues that may negatively impact admins like:
"I don't think that headmins have an obligation to participate in policy discussion. Their position is to talk in the internal discussions tower with the other headmins and come to an agreement." - Rave's stance on policy discussions is not participating at all outside of headminbus. If you're an admin and you want a policy change to happen, you can't guarantee Rave will publicly participate in the process?
"I'm not a good timekeeper, I benefit from someone who can keep the metronome ticking." - Doesn't contribute their full weight to keeping the lights on? This term's response time on appeals and complaints mixed in.

But otherwise Rave promises another 6 months of no change. And most admins dig the status quo as long as they haven't been negatively impacted by it.

Timber has the exact kind of autism i like to see in a headmin. The kind where norms and social conventions are so drowned out by stubbornness and rigid (usually unhinged) moral frameworks that they don't effectively matter. Truly a child of the most golden branches of the Asperger tree.

My opinions right now (subject to change prior to the end of voting):

1 - Timberpoes - number one candidate, always comes in with correct opinions which he conveys well and respectfully - I was hoping he'd run and he did!
2 - NamelessFairy / Striders13 - good admins with good opinions in general; in both cases, unimpressive policy but they have the profile to do a good job over the semester
3 - CMDR_Gungnir / Rectification - good policy, good forum opinions, but I haven't got the same certainty as with the number two candidates
4 - Drag - has made bad decisions in the past, no LRP policy but willing to learn, gaining ground / kieth4 - good intentions but poor knowledge of policy, gaining ground (started out at the bottom)
5 - iamgoofball - cool platform, but I'm not satisfied about either the experience or the profile
6 - iwishforducks - cool guy but bad platform
7 - iain0 - [see my reply his post for why I think he's the worst candidate]

If two people are on the same tier I just haven't decided which of the two is better yet

Misdoubtful has already won but she'd be up there with Timberpoes if she hadn't.

No opinion yet - EmpressMaia/Trexter555/Rave_Radbury/AwkwardStereo - never/barely heard of them, will have to look into them before voting. If any of you four see this message, you're welcome to enlighten me.

My card so far, and I am not gonna change it. Candidates have spoken enough for me to form an opinion (unless they murder puppies or something):

1 - Striders13: love the tiding policy. Solves a ton of problems with banbaiting. Also generally a cool guy that's active on the Discord.
2 - Stereo: Incredibly sane. Good dad joke dedication. This means I'm voting for Timberpoes, by the way.
3 - NamelessFairy: I like them even though I hate cat people. Good head on their shoulders.
4 - keith4: Funny guy, and although I feel he's gonna wreck his headminship before he does anything good, he's not malicious. You don't have to be a genius to be headmin.
5 - Drag: I like their interactions on the forum. Not a fan of never seeing them on the Discord. Also, I think LRP needs more headmin love rn
6 - iain0: Silicon policy is why he's not at the bottom. I'm not a fan of admins I don't know much about besides adminwho.
7 - ducks: I like ducks. He's a cool guy and I think he has good intentions. His insane platform isn't gonna come through though. Mentioning him 'cos he cool.

Everyone else is gonna be on the bottom of the card in a random order.

(If you want feedback, I think your biggest problem you run into is the Delete Manuel Or Roleplay Policy front. No matter what, either one, or both, of our communities lose their preferred style of playing SS13. That's a very hard case to make look good.)

Wait until the election ends and even if you come last you will have at least 1 person putting you 1 I'm sure. Cherish that person.

i think i'm just gonna remove the manuel part of my headmin election thread. i'm no longer really interested in pushing it. i think on a fundamental level i still believe in it but i'd rather take the 6 months to flush it out and do other things on the server. i think my other policies are great and i want to get them in for the good of the servers. i'd hate for my manuel policy to be the limiting factor on me for a lot of people :(

Putting ideas to public scrutiny is great man, that's the hardest part. Mfs can say what they want but they haven't put themselves in the sights of so many people. If nothing else take away that you managed to put yourself in the spotlight with radical as fuck ideas which is pog and a brave thing to do. Regardless on if you remove it or not best of luck bro.
