tl;dr The only reason Saren might not have been told is if it would've harmed another player in a significant manner, so if he wasn't told, that would be why.

this is only weird because i've interacted with seren countless times ingame and they've always been a friendly an innocuous sort: nothing ever gave me the impression that they would be blacklisted down the line for top secret highly confidential reasons. it's like finding out your pleasant elderly neighbour who likes growing petunias and training for the neighbourhood charity speedwalking race was codenamed "the black death" internally by the FBI and is under 24/7 high security surveillance

I'm not accusing you of anything, if I was, I would have said "Saren was told why he was blacklisted", not "It's possible that this is what happened".

Do I think that's what happened? No, especially now that more details were posted, but I've seen other people do similar shit in other communities, so I put the idea out there as a possibility.

This is the only time I will ever say this, but Vekter was right to make that remark.

It is not uncommon for people to stir drama by making up things to paint themselves in the better light, even though they may very well have been told why they were banned, or didn't NEED to be told why because it was already so obvious and they knew what they were doing...

Regardless of this individual case, it's a very real possibility something like that can happen, and Vekter pointing that out was perfectly fair.

Its still a VERY odd thing to say about someone you, and i quote, "have never interacted with". You could have just said "oh maybe he lied" or something like that. Just to clarify for everyone. I have been told the reason after I made the appeal. I don’t know how much I can say, but it’s a lot of shit over the months that’s made me ill and severely malnourished due to stress. I do wish I was told sooner, but it is a delicate situation that I haven’t had a say in yet.

I missed this the first couple times I scrolled this thread.

I'll leave the thread open for another day before locking it.

This was the only thing that struck me as strange about the appeal and being that this has been addressed, there's not much else to discuss.

That's how I felt about it as well. Seren is also one of the people that first come to mind when I think of when it comes to people on Manuel. I've never heard anything bad about him. I had a really nice round in cargo with Seren as the QM a few days prior to his ban.

I'm shocked, but I imagine if the admins, headmins, and MSO are keeping it this classified then it must have been something serious. MSO and the headmins don't really come across as the folks to get really petty about a random user and blacklist them out of nowhere (anyone who was on the old Facepunch forums knows what I'm talking about).

It's telling that Timberpoes isn't going into more detail about it, seeing as they usually will give a full (but exhausting) explanation to whatever.

I think that's bunk because like, I had to argue my way out of a blacklist for a doxx that not only I didn't even do, but didn't happen in the first place, and everyone on the admin team sat around chanting the "GOOF WASN'T TOLD BECAUSE IT'S DANGEROUS STOP ASKING QUESTIONS" bullshit until an admin leaked that the entire thing was bullshit

people have a right to know what they're being banned for, it sounds like MSO did indeed discuss it with seren and that's good

we don't know for certain. the only minutely interesting thing when i made the thread was that they had not been told why they were blacklisted. they have since been informed by their own admission, but the full details (and even vague details) are being kept behind closed doors to the peanuting public.
