It's just like me buying nikes. I can't afford that shit so I don't buy it, basically who cares about kpop(that shit sucks ass just like crunkcore). And some good shit like opera will shine. Sure, it holds a bit more weight when it's dealing with unnecessary things like vidya/other music in general, but saying "it's hypocritical to call out kpop without calling out literally everything else in the world that is exploitative" leads to the "ok so that's a bit too much work to list everything in the known universe I will avoid calling out out at all" response rather than the "I will call everything out" response.

It's good to call out any form of exploitation, you don't have to be all-or-nothing.

anyway, I think the vast majority of hate for kpop isn't just that teenagers like it, it's probably mainly because of the social media stuff - people don't like it when something's shoved in their face.

yeah my original comment was because i dislike idol culture and the market, but it was a bit knee jerk and you do make a good point about how kpop gets a lot of heat simply because of the main consumers of the medium, with other similar media and goods escaping criticism. enjoy your things but acknowledge some of the ugly parts is what i think is good
