Things can not continue as things once have. I will continue to get frustrated at feeling powerless in matters involving coderbus until that frustration leads me to abandon all protocol, as it did today.

nobody is asking to destroy anything you can take the code and use it

someone host 2015 station then... wait, we should actually do that. we could turn either bagil or alt codebase into a 2015 server and let it run for awhile.

oh and we don't actually have to host it, someone else could but i don't think there is enough interest for it to crop up on its own

i'm genuinely so jaded from interacting with coders here that i cant tell if you're being genuine or telling me to fuck off and host my own 2015 code if i want to play it
since we're plant pals i'll go with the former and say: the infrastructure is in place, both server and staff, and parts of the server infrastructure go unused
no reason not to do it and gauge player interest

I'd love to try a 2015code SS13 server, again, though, at least for a bit. See the old janky atmospherics when plasma's flashpoint was 273 Kelvin instead of 373 Kelvin or whatever.

I would venture to say it would be much more destructive to the server for it to fork than for MSO to give himself head-headcoder, but hell what do I know I don't code. Maybe a coder could shed light on why they think this proposal must be avoided at all costs even if it means pretty much ripping apart TG.

dont get me wrong i realise coders are volunteers and i dont want to shit on volunteers needlessly, but being a volunteer doesn't entitle you to getting your will

the next server split being caused in part by a slippery station is objectively the best possible death for /tg/station

this isn't just about emojis in pr titles and the coders cleverly fixating on the silly part is a way to make it seem like it's not about the power struggle that's been going on for years.

this isn't life and death shit and at the end of the day you can still play the game with 10% variation in either direction but coders have been explicitly and proudly shitty to the community for years. not all coders are like this but not all cops shoot people for kicks, the others always line up beside them when they get outside scrutiny though

I should add i have no problem with the coders and they should have sway based on the work they put in, but there has to be at least some basic cooperation or communication with the other parts of the community that make the server something actually meaningful to code for. no one would care about a project with zero players, and the game is made both playable and special through admin intervention

Sounds like you can either cater to the population that has grown and thrived with the current development or you could cater to people who have entirely stopped playing but promise that if you do what they say they will surely play

Oh and btw tgstation is not only the largest server but also the easiest to get into, MSO does not need to worry about the server dying. If he does give, it’s of his own accord.
