coders have nerfed everything they can die to and now are moving in for the nonlethal threats too

I like swarmers. I love antags like blob which start small but get everybody's butts moving before they snowball.

i think we should remove atmos next

here's an idea, make them a super rare event instead of straight up deleting it because absolutely buttblasted

if fucking wizards popped up every other round like swarmers have been recently(HMM WIERD) i'd want it gone too

Explain to me how the universal freakout that occurs every time a swarmer is spotted is "boring". I can understand somebody not finding them balanced, or disliking the destruction they caused because it disrupted their bar RP- but "boring"?

Heck, I'd argue that swarmers are among the most unique antags in the game. Few antag-types exist that, if not kept in check, gradually strips away the vital infrastructure of the station bit-by-bit until you're lucky if you can make it to the shuttle.

I think the real reason people want them gone (barring the fact that theyve been showing up every other fucking round for a week now) is that they are the antags everyone fucking ignores until there are 8 of them surrounding you making WOO noises

a lot of things go wrong for players in this game. removing a bunch of ghost roles "because its gweify" is such poor reasoning i'm surprised oranges okay'd it.

imagine if they had red lasers and could lethal people

unsure if that would have gotten them removed faster or made players aware to instant kill them as soon as their spotted.

Ultimately, they are drones with disablers and cuffs. Highly annoying. Highly hard to hit, and unstunnable.

I appreciate what the coders do, but we elect the headmins to represent our wants and interests
I could be wrong, but last I checked none of us elected the coders that make these kinds of changes

all in all its not a huge gigantic WHAT ARE THEY DOING THE SERVERRRR moment but I'll still miss swarmers, as they've been around for how many years now?

All the work that people put into them just callously tossed in the "we dont like this thing" pile along with clockcult, devil, hivemind, gangs, and god knows what else I'm forgetting.

headadmins have no say in the code and never have, if you got the impression you were electing them to represent you in code changes you are wrong

Back when they were in the game.

They were kind of miserable but hating them was a meme and the negative reaction was overblown. They didn't deserve to be removed, just improved. I'm not sure who added NPC swarmers or why but those were always the worst to have to deal with. Being mobbed by a bunch of lemons, stunlocked and then randomly teleported was not enjoyable.

pretty much exclusively when you are one, but I have enjoyed swarmer fights. it's when they've decisively won, or you're the intern curator and getting teleported and don't know what handcuffs are that swarmers become really asscrack. So I guess I'm okay with it, but I did have fun being one.

to make up for the unfair and unjust removal of swarmers i propose a new traitor item that starts a 5 minute countdown timer, at the end of which if the person who triggered it is not dead, all ore silos and orms on the station are hit by missiles
