Aight, vote ranking time

top-to-bottom in case it's a little hard to tell
Omega_DarkPotato - Obvious
Iain0 - Absolute king we love you iain I've said your policy is kinda dry but you're fucking active as all hell and in terms of "capability to keep lights on" you'd probably keep them on the most
RaveRadbury - you're cool but could stand to lighten up on some stuff
PositiveEntropy - I believe in you clone bro
Riggle - Doesn't want to be headmin
Domitius - I'm putting you low because I want to beat you in the elections
San7890 - I'm not huge on some of your takes sometimes
Fikou - throws in RoR2
Jonathan Gupta - Also denied admin, I literally wrote up the deny message, it still applies I'm sorry bro but thats how it is
NamelessFairy - Disagrees with me about trainer stuff
Kieth4 - You're aight to talk with but I don't want you as headmin I'm sorry
Goofballer - No

Sorry about the delay.

Firstly, it's nothing personal.

Secondly it's that your main policy, which seems to me to be fixing training, doesn't really seem like an issue to me; I think the trainer team is in fairly good shape right now.

To be honest I think you'd be a fine headmin, but there's nothing about your manifesto which excites me

I'm one of those guys who's rude enough to post who's on the bottom and go into detail as to why.
Capture.PNG
AMA, but before you ask:
-I always put players with no admin/code experience below administrators. I don't want headmins who have the additional responsibility of learning how the admin tools work on top of all the other things headmins have to be doing.
-People have been shuffled around a little since my first vote due to mothblocks' post about what threads have been responded to. I see it as the headmins' responsibility to respond to problems within the limits of their term, and not having enough time / care to make even a short response to these threads is not a good sign.
-Goofball is always bottom.

gonna be honest san, I almost put you on the bottom for that sticker in your signature, but goofball has to go somewhere.
I suppose the "almost" does imply a lot, but I was presuming second-bottom.

The explanation here is that I was shitposting. Having a catgirl in your signature isn't enough to put you next to the bottom.
I like your policies a lot, and you're not a nonadmin noncoder. That puts you near the top of the vote.

I haven't seen that much toxicity - the worst I've seen was, to be honest, mothblocks in some of the candidate threads. Care to elaborate?

I should be more clear- it’s not anything you find in the forums. Using the forums helps you have a cool head since you can think on your response or at least dwell on the emotions behind what you’re saying. You can be exacting in your critiques and assume level positons.

I’m talking about interactions I’ve had as of late on those Instant Messaging platforms (Discord/OOC). People don’t surpress their sinister/ulterior motives as easily in the heat of what they’re saying as they try and eek out the “own” on you- approximating what you’re saying instead of listening to what you’re actually saying since they’ve already thought of a way to contest you.

There are people who are running or otherwise selling themselves as “nice people”, some of whom I can personally attest to being a nice-minded person and a good judge of character sending messages dripping in vitriolic criticism and chastisement. I do not think I have ever seen so many people be so miserable while making other people miserable.

I suppose that’s just life? I can’t wait for it to end though.

This makes even less sense if a complete outsider sees what Alphonzo termed "stones thrown in a glass house by the outgoing term". It makes sense when you think about the end goal (ensuring the "right" people become headmin), but there's no true winning in this situation because the people who succeed you will frustrate you as you gain more wrinkles as a game master. If you burn bridges throwing stones in a glass house, you might just end up old and bitter.

Or, people might just forgive you later on. Maybe.

I keep a very close eye on how people interact with one another and what they say about their goals and the goals of others during this window of time. It can all tell me a lot about the kind culture they would instill and how much they might end up succeeding or failing to empower others. Holding people accountable for things they have(n't) done to help them to be better is one thing, using it as an opportunity to burn them or creating a situation that allows others to burn them is another.

Its all a team effort. The bigger picture partly includes being involved with and getting along with other people that are running that they might just be stuck with for six months. The more they get along with and empower people, the more they themselves might just be able to accomplish (like their own little projects) when things get taken off their hands, people are more willing to work with them and others projects are making their life (term) easier. Instead of setting themselves up for a potentially up-hill battle.

Creating and leaving animosity to sit and simmer instead is just an unnecessary source of stress for everyone involved.

Pissing people off is an especially questionable choice of method for generating consensus and camaraderie.

I don't think I'm excited about anyone. Recent headmins have disappointed me since they seem to have a combination of burning out/just not being able to make the hard calls.
Alot of people running just seem to be naive too which doesn't help. Im not even sure who I want to win.
