Then I saw their Discord posts and that changed everything about how I saw the OP

Indeed, at first I was thinking "why is someone getting a perma ban for a single naming violation", then I read the discord messages.
On the other hand I do have to say that "Zero tolerance" policies usually just lead to zero brain responses. Use your brain, a single dumb name isn't ERP.

Do people play ss14 long enough to get a ban? The only things I actually enjoyed in my few hours of playing were explosions, better performance, and the instruments.

The name should absolutely be slapped for being dumb, but it should be a "okay just change your name" not a "You are permanently banned".
The stuff he said was fucking stupid, and he shouldn't have done it, but it's deranged to let it be a deciding factor on a permaban for the name "nuzzles ur wuzzles" which is just dumb uwu speak and not even remotely ERP

according to the appealer they were not given a chance to change their name. given the timeline of their discord messages it certainly seems like they were banned before they started salting. my only thought would be is that they were banned for a day or something and THEN they changed the length of the ban.

no one bothered to mention it was a stupid ban initially that only got retroactively justified because he was very clearly upset about the stupid ban.
I think his melty was pretty silly but he didnt have much to lose when the expectation would be he wouldnt ever be able to play on their server anyways (over a character name no less).

HG told me they made the server after they got bored of trolling people on DBZ online
