On the one hand, his personality is the soul of SS13.
On the other, he got robusted by a plasmaman when he likely had a circular saw.
Kind of conflicted as to whether he deserves another chance.

kendrick won't ever be normal again unless i remove 1 warning from his account, and it's a warning that happened 10 days before the event hes actually talking about, the ban, which didn't come with any permanent warning and was lifted early.

I will be delivering grapes from the vine to Kendrick's house, where he will sit on a persian couch and have me feed them to him ala that one spongebob episode

i do regret the ban tho (hence the early lift) but i think the warning and ban is mixing together into this singularity of 1984

I hope the legion is actually worth using now. Before it kinda fell into the problem where you could either equip it like a (somewhat average) carrier, or you could deck it out with guns in exchange for having dogshit fighters/bombers. Battlecarriers were a bad idea in real life and they seem to be bad in Starsector as well. I love generalist/multirole ships (xiv version of the eradicator from iron shell, my beloved), but carriers should solely focus on being carriers.

Honestly I still think the Heron is better (I would also say the Mora if it wasn't so FUCKING SLOW GODDAMN) despite having one less fighter deck. A kinda meh capital ship is better than no capital ship in regards to creating breathing room for smaller ships, but I'd still much rather have an onslaught for the same DP cost. The only credit I'll give both versions of the legion for is having enough armor to vent right in front of the enemy without issue. It's a shame the ship AI is a frontliner no matter what. I've seen Legions that I've equipped with only PD fucking charge enemy ships.

I'm glad Astral is getting a loadout point boost as well. As it is now, it's almost impossible to give it PD unless you spend a lot of storypoints for hullmods. I absolutely hate high-tech (xiv fanboy here), but the astral is a very nice ship 10/10 would use it if it had XIV colors.

I have no idea if the Luddic dreadnaught is gonna be okay or if it's gonna be ass. It seems like it would be really good in station battles (as a defender or attacker) but it probably needs a heavy escort. Also, 4,000 skeleton crew is a MEGA oof. I think I've only had 4,000 crew as a requirement once or twice and it was when I was doomstacking capitals for a clusterfuck Nexerlin battle.

Also, I'd much rather have the Lions Guard be the elite guys while the rest of the navy are shitty conscripts (ala Sadam's Iraq with its republican guard vs. conscripts) as opposed to how it is now where it's the opposite, but oh well. The executor ship is going to be so dogshit.

Honestly the thing that gets me for starsector updates is the continuation of the main storyline - in terms of ships, varying degrees of balance, and interesting game concepts there's very usually always a mod out there that'll do it, but storylines and quests are rare enough. SotF, and supposedly the big 3 anime girl mods of PAGSM/Iron Shell/UAF all have stories (to some extent) but outside of that it's kind of dry - give me my QUESTLINES give me my SHIT TO DO BEYOND JUST MONEY NUMBER GO UP

excited for the major events too tbh, can't wait to guard my megacolony system with the full force of a proper armada while pirates and hegemons attempt to raid my commercial districts

Luddic needs a lot of help in general, their ships are ass.

the astral is a gorgeous ship and absolutely needs a LOT more points, its SUPPOSED to be intimidating, it isnt, unless you have to fight like 5 of them at once with a normal fleet, and even then, its doable

low tech will absolutely shred everything except for redacted fleets
