Help me make my new PC suffer

I recently upgraded from my old (1050ti, i5 6th gen) pc to a brand spanking new one (3090, i5 12th gen) and every single fucking thing I throw at it, it runs no problem at 1080p 60fps, something that my previous pc barely ever did.

So, dearest players, help me make it suffer. I wanna see this fucker cry for help.

Thus far I've tried:
  • Portal RTX
  • Minecraft Java with an RTX shader pack
  • Cyberpunk 2077 Ultra RTX settings
  • Half-Life: Alyx, Boneworks, Bonelab, VRChat
And it has bested every single one, running at 60fps 1080p flawlessly, no hitches no nothing. (Cyberpunk did crash but that's Cyberpunk being Cyberpunk)
The only game I tried that brought my computer to its knees was Star Citizen, even on low settings it could not reach 60, which is fucking absurd what drugs did they put in that game.

Anyways, suggest me games to test on it :)

This would work but requires giving them money for their mess of a game

1080p… 60 fps… bro do you not have a 144hz or a 165hz monitor? you’re telling me you spent all of this money on the gpu and cpu but not your MONITOR?

1080p 60hz has just always been enough for me, sure I'd like to get a 4k 144hz beast some day but I don't really need it.
I also use my pc for stuff like, game dev and 3d modeling, so the extra cpu/gpu horsepower definetly worth it

144hz will change your life and you will be unable to go back to 60hz. everything just becomes so responsive. i would honestly recommend against a 4k monitor because it breaks way too many programs and the performance hit is not even worth it. i've found that a 30 inch 1440p 144hz/165hz monitor is the sweet spot. if you don't already have a second monitor then i would heavily suggest you get that new fancy monitor. second monitors are a must have for your profession (speaking as a game dev and 3d artist here) - it's really nice to have docs/tutorials on the second monitor which your current monitor could be used for if you get a new one.

this is the monitor i got: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnsstM_3a00 (MSI G273QF)

i've been pretty happy with it. my only regret is i got the 27" instead of the 30". shit becomes really small with a 1440p monitor but i've adjusted which is why i recommend the 30". feel free to do your own research but the monitor is pretty price efficient (right now the 27" is 240 USD on amazon)

just remember: you can get godlike GPUs and CPUs, but it doesn't matter squat if you can't even tell the difference if you have a shitty monitor/shitty headphones/shitty mouse/shitty keyboard, etc etc

You said "minecraft with an RTX shader pack" so I raise you one very simple step up

modded minecraft with an RTX shader pack. I'd recommend FTB Skies but FTB's been a little bitch recently in terms of where their lead is taking them (namely, sending requests to other launchers to take down their FTB pack support so that everyone has to use the FTB launcher) so find something of your own

yeah but that's the starting island. Set your shaders to max and now build a proper base.

Goddamnit. No matter what you do, it always lags (unless you have a nasa computer). There is no surviving an open world sci-fi game.

Try Planetside 2 on max settings. Nothing will ever run that smoothly with even 60 fps.

...

Am I the only one who remembers that game?

I wish I had played it at its peak, unfortunately I had a crappy laptop when it was big and could play as an infiltrator at 10 fps. I'd get the occasional kill.
