My issue with PR is that it removes to chemicals that have a particular PH, which is 14, the only natural 14. Is Clonexadone used in other servers, yes. TG, not so much as any guns that deal genetic damage is locked behind 140 minutes of research time gate. Pyro doesn't have to be used in cryotube thankfully. Cryoxdone also doesn't have to be used in cryotubes either, the conditions are body temp cold and person is asleep. When sleeping and a shower does the same work as cryotube is something.

RP changelogs are funny occasionally but should be really short.

"All cryotubes have been removed from NT stations pending a safety evalutation" works fine because it doesnt bury the lead on the thing it's supposed to be saying.

That said, i dont always follow my own advice here.

Sometimes these work, in this particular case "until further notice" makes it sound like something's disabled for a bug rather than removed for good. Sad reality is you usually need to go to github and check there, and even PRs aren't always clear about what has actually changed and how.

Not sure where the hostility circlejerk for people who want the codebase changelogs to primarily be clear and concise descriptions of the changes made to the game is coming from.

Its pretty funny to word ooc balancing changes as if its some kind of ic bureaucratic reshuffling but it can be annoying if there are two full lines of fluff and no mention of multiple changes in the PR.

Most changelogs don't really say much even if they're largely just stating what the PR did. They're shorthands for what a PR does. If someone cares about the specifics, they should seek out the PR on the github or come to find out the nature of the change in-game. There are even some code changes that do not find their way into the changelog simply because it wouldn't and shouldn't matter to players that the change was made, such as largely development side refactors with no player-facing impact.

If the means of conveying this information is in a small narrative, that's still an effective shorthand if it conveys the relevant information. The only point where saying everything bluntly and openly matters is when it is the PR body itself, where all changes need to be highlighted and explained clearly.

I mean, I hate the rollerdome music machine because people always pick the same song and it makes me stand/rest repeatedly, and I don't see the point of keeping felinids around if coders are just going to keep bullying them by giving them things other people can do to annoy them.
But I think codebase changes having an IC explanation is nice for being able to talk about it IC, and they're usually pretty amusing.

Yeah, but I like the rest of the instruments, I just don't like it when someone's fighting over playing Caramelldansen and someone else wants to turn it off, and they're both too stubborn to stop fighting. So I just take the escape pods or stay on the station.
