I moved away from a major metropolitan area to bumfuck nowhere and there's no good sushi out here. The problem isn't even the fish, it's that these people keep fucking up the rice. It's incredible.

Sushi feels like a very weird way to make a very simple dish (Rice, fish and seaweed) somehow look fancy.

Is it? Like sushi clearly isn't a health hazard*.

(it can be a little high in mercury for pregnant women - but there's little real risk of infection )

Also it's delicious nomnomnom

Nothing worse than sushi with shitty rice. I want some nigiri with nice vinegary rice.

correctly prepared sushi doesnt pose any health risk more than the avg restraunt food (hell it may actually be slightly safer compared to whats allowed in america)

Freezing the fish long enough will kill potential parasites without the need for cooking. I suppose you need to have faith that your restaurant is preparing it correctly.
What may blow your mind is some restaurants in Japan serve raw chicken.

I tried sushi but I couldn’t get past the “this is raw I’m going to get sick” thought in my head.

Yeah but then I'd be eating defrosted raw meat and that sounds miserable.

People were hyped up on global warming for the past few decades when it was really big plastic we should have been rising up against and killing. We're fucked.

Buy air filtering machines for your home. A lot of micro plastics are airborne indoors from things like synthetic fabrics rubbing together.

Sushi's worth the risk of getting sick, tastes so good. 8-)
Whenever my dad comes up to visit, we hit up a local sushi bar and it's great every time.
