Yeah I like it more than TGMC. Got alot of good ideas, just not what I desire out of space station 13. That said, it is fun as fuck.

im still far too burnt out to put as many hours into tg as i used to.
CM and TGMC have been filling that void quite well

I take tgmc over it every day, honestly. CM is clunky and ugly where tgmc is smooth and fast paced

no but i observe TGMC sometimes, not understanding a damn thing that's going on but enjoying the marines and aliens killing each other.

I've never played TGMC, but I've been on CM on and off since Sulaco days. I have no strong opinions on the server, the movie-accurate stuff they add is cool but removing tanks and APCS makes me very upset.

I played cm 4 years ago, figured out how to frag my squad leader on the ship and then promptly left it was cool

tgmc isn't suppose to be better than cm, it just suppose to have less shitty admins than cm.

People forget that when tgmc(dmca) was created, CM would ban you if you talked bad about CM in other spaces/discords. That exception of our second discord rule:
2: Do not use this Discord server to break the rules of other communities/servers.
2a: This rule does not apply to stupid rules such as, "do not criticize us in other servers".
Is specifically referring to an old CM rule.

and the only reason they could get away with doing something that fucking stupid was because their servers were the only space you could enjoy that experience. The moment that stopped being the case they had to care about what players thought about their excessive authoritation bullshit and they chilled the fuck out.

Ive been on an extended vacation on CM and it is a lot of fun. Not sure what the old administration team was like but I've never had an issue. I even was given an exception to an eorg ban when i offed a specialist after the round ended. (They deserved it)

EORG hate is the worse cancer plagling ss13 servers.

Why players are willing to play on a server that bans it i will never understand.

I already knew they chilled out. They announced the rules reform within a month after dmca was created.

These kinds of things work by existing, by being the threat hovering in the air. Nobody ever walks away from a server for another and kills the original server. What happens is once enough people start to, it gets noticed by those in charge and they change for the better. Sometimes just knowing that players can do so is enough.

I am a stan of community servers in video games because i do not think devs should have the power to control who can play a video game, even a multiplayer one, just control who can connect to their servers, which requires the ability to host 3rd party servers. I am a stan of open source video games because i think once you start running the code on your server, you should also have the right to change it, but also that the right to fork and change it on their own server should also apply to your players (pay it forward).

Generally for RP environments, it's kinda disliked because you can be finishing something up and suddenly get blown up without resolution.

The fix my (very small) server did is just that EORG only happens in the centcom area. You can stay on the station or shuttle and finish up whatever you were doing, but if you wanna griff then there's the biblical apocalypse-tier fight in centcom.

motivation to make it on the shuttle, I like it.

brb accidentally incapacitating/n2oing the guy I hate right as the shuttle lands so that I can "save" them and then duke it out at centcom.

What I hero I was.

I don't really think its that serious lmao
it is a little lame but it makes sense in regards to the whole roleplay aspect of CM.

Why don't they just end the rounds later?

last time i played cm i was in a fist fight with the delta squad leader & fat fingered the quick equip key & blew his head off
i don’t think i played after that because i disliked the lack of diagonal movement

The "round ends" when the win conditions are met but the server reset is delayed much longer than TG because lots of round ends are sudden. People want to finish their RP, which CM takes very seriously. Youre expected to be IC, especially as a higher ranking marine, until it resets.

I've never played CM cause I was always scared of the combo of their skill-curve, my bad ping, all mixed with their high-RP environment

Also, I had a dream once where I played on CM but I was actually in the game as myself. I was like a military police or something... and I might have been naked??? It was many years ago
