It’s that time of year again! Figured I’d open this thread as we watch folks start campaigning and for general discussion on how it’s gonna shake out.

someone will campaign for LRP and MRP to have separate admins and codebases
someone will mention the removal of felinids
someone will make a low effort thread and be disqualified by oranges

I would legitimately give my vote to the Jonathon Gupta platform even though I know if you won you'd use your authority to make it legal to reflex-kill anyone that triggered it (me breathing within 5 tiles)

You should make a headmin campaign halfway through the debate and ask questions that heavily favour you

"How much experience do you have with TG Headminning, Cheshify?"
"Well Cheshify, I've been doing it for the last six months."

Would be pretty funny, but I hold myself to a better standard.

Why? You won't be a Headmin anymore soon and there's nothing they could do about that!! I would go to the extent of saying those are some amazing standards

it was legendary... Not only did he win it as a player, as soon as his term was up he didnt even take the free GM. He is famously quoted as saying

"Headmin was fun, but I love the players and I would never leave them for the chains of adminship." ~Keith4 (probably). Hard to say exactly why and how but it was a term that was for everyone, they represented the views of admins and players alike really well

Honestly I could go for another term, I just really want to spend more time on school and on my map. Also the headmin debates.

It was truly the greatest term of headminship that I have ever been a part of. Every single ruling that Timber, Kieth and don't forget misdoubtful made was truly maxxed out on being based. I swear we will never have the same level of snark from ban appeals then Timber did. Also dreary you are amazing, but you haven't quite gotten to the same level of timberposting that Timber is on (Hell, the term is named after them lol). But I believe that with training and passion you can.

I moved houses in Jan and I'm currently neck deep in the first part of a few years of training to become an air traffic controller.

Reaching the end of the very intensive introductory phase where I'm in the classroom 8:30am - 4:30pm Mon to Fri and studying another 3-4 hours at home after that.

Supposedly we get way more free time at the end of Feb once we move on from theory to the simulators, but I've got to make sure I'm being responsible in running first.

That aside?

There's more I want to do - sec policy has unfinished business and I want to carve the rules page down to size cuz it's too long.

I absolutely want to roll with Dendy for a term. They were mentioned as a future host vote during my last term.

And I miss posting in appeals. I always feel sad after having to follow peanut posting rules. :(

It's nice to see a people being happy about the term I had, it's a stark opposite to when I was running these last few years and it was like hate and angst at the prospect of my headminship. Timber and Misdoubtful were absolutely incredible and a huge thanks to them both for making our term what it was.

damn, the host vote was announced that early? what sucker got lumped with that gig?

jokes aside it was a very nice surprise, everyone has been saying very kind things to me and it's been a very humbling experience.

i'd be glad to work with anyone. the last 2 terms (nothing personal, but it's what i've been adminned through so it's what i have experience of!) have been amazing, and the standards set by them are allowing us to run the dopest ss13 community, it's really nice to see and i'm proud to be a part of it all. i hope i can help to carry on that high standard.

there are lots of great admins and players who i know will be running, and any choice you all make i'll be overjoyed with.

if you don't know what i'm about, i'm very active on the forums (my many essays in the policy discussion subforum might shed some light on what i really think about many aspects of the game) so i'll continue to do my thing of essay bombing people who share their thoughts, concerns etc, and i don't mind anyone who wants to ping me in the tgstation discord to talk to me about whatever: ss13, admin stuff, cats. i play manuel, but i've been playing this game long enough that i remember before the mrp/lrp dichotomy, and i see the value and joy that both ways to play the game bring to people.

i don't really have any plans or schemes at the ready. i'm a bloomer not a doomer (despite the name...) and so i don't really have a list of grievances that i kept scribbled down on a dog-eared diner napkin, i play the game a lot and i enjoy it every time i do, so i can't really share any big exciting plans or changes with you - i don't have any... yet!

Iain would be an incredible headmin but I don't think they'll get the votes - playing exclusively from Terry, not really being on the forums and previously has tended towards a status quo candidate.

If TImber runs they get my instant #1 vote.

I'm also certainly not running again
