I was reading /vg/ and came across this cool looking game called "SS13". Has anyone here heard of it? It looks really interesting!

I actually haven't tried SS14 yet. I probably will some day though.

I have, it was entertaining for a few rounds but it's light years from the gameplay we love and it lacks all the jankyness and commodities we are used to.

It's weird knowing not only is that server still going they still have generals for it. I remember posting there and playing a bit in like 2014 or earlier. Also those sprites look so bad. None of the sprites replacing them are recent additions but it's easy to forget how bad the game used to look.

the real bizzaro world alternate timeline experience is /vm/station. it has nobody playing it, probably because that board is just relatively obscure to begin with and compounding that with the obscureness of SS13 means nobody even knows about it. the code revision they settled on is definitely not the worst choice but because nobody's playing it that's about all there is to say about it
