If someone succumbs, is it the person who crit them’s fault?

Bottom post of the previous page:

This is a situation that’s always seemed obvious to me but I surprisingly couldn’t find a past ruling. If someone succumbs quickly after being crit, whose fault is it that they died? I always assumed it was treated as suicide. Am I missing a past ruling that’s set in stone?
If succumbing is the fault of the crittee, then since succumbing is possible at any point and ups crit to murder, should critting just be treated as murder in the rules? Is killing someone and cloning them the same as critting and healing someone?

If admins don't drop the hammer on ban baiting succumbers, it's IMO an administrative issue.
Code wise we can't really distinguish between "I've been stuck in crit and just want to die" and "I'm gonna succumb and then ahelp like the ban baiting fuck I am". That's up to admins to judge.

What you (not specifically you, just coders in general) could do is make some sort of log notice where it says that someone succumbed. That way, the admins knoh wait a second hm that already seems to exist uh excuse me mods uuuh???

I guess it has to be made more obvious? I dunno. It seems that coderbus did the best they could do though so it definitely is an admin issue unless this succumb logo info is hidden behind tons of bullshit.

Yeah, it already differentiates between death whisper/succumbing and soft/hard crit. For example, in the attack log it looks like
01:49:59 ATTACK ShibaInuLord/(Deana Whittler) Has succumbed to death while in soft critical with -1.6 points of health! (118, 170, 2) Security Office

i didn't read this thread at all but i'll tell you my understanding anyway which is that critting someone is the same as killing so you need a valid reason in case they adminhelp. dalta stough taught me this in the bar on boxstation in 2012. then we had sex

if you accidentally crit someone while trying to do surgery, it's fine because you jsut made a few too many mistakes

If you accidentally kill someone while trying to do surgery, you need more experience on the mechanics or you're just being malicious

if you fail more than twice it's because you have left disarm on and the player undergoing the surgery should kill you :smug:

That or you're doing some form of ghetto
