Bottom post of the previous page:

>go on forums and make vague promises that you probably still won't uphold or promise things completely out of your power to appease the widest group of players
>in-game do your best to make every player happy with you regardless of rules/policy/etc. for 2 weeks so they like you more
>win the popularity contest
>either flaunt your power a little bit or end up not wanting to to avoid rocking boat, get bored and decide you dont want it anymore

the admins actually didn't vote in HG, they voted in Shaps, but Shaps withdrew

SEPARATION IS ABSOLUTE (except the part where we get to pick a headmin every term kek).

I'd argue player vote is the best because (1) the administration serves the players and (2) players are the most impacted by admin behavior and so they have the best idea of which person they'd like running the ship.

The administration actively avoids admins butting into one another's business and so a mostly-afk admin is rarely going to notice if you did a shoddy job with an ahelp or did a poorly run event.

As for the host vote... I respect the coders, but I absolutely do not understand why we need one as a headmin.

Coder vote is no longer a thing.

You're right its host vote, who selects a coder, I don't know how MSO makes his picks but it generally seems to be "insert active coder here who hasn't been headmin yet".

MSO does not usually pick, it is delegated to the headmins on his behalf. They picked Joan and Jordie afaik

So, why not just make it so someone has to be a full admin before they can run for headmin?

Just remove the headmins already and we can turn this server into petty fiefs ruled by iron-fisted admin cabals out for each others blood.

No gods no masters.

this exact logic of removing freedom from the uneducated populace is the same logic that the broken Electoral College was established under. :^)
