So I just read a little of this thead: https://tgstation13.org/phpBB/viewtopic ... 34&t=10255

Banning admin: Dannno
Ban type (What are you banned from?): sec roles
Ban reason and length:43800 Changed to a week. Permabrigged an assistant for disarming him twice. When told to release them, ran in with a flashbang, spooking the assistant who tried to grab them. They proceeded to execute the assistant, despite being explicitly told not to do it. Take a break from security.
Time ban was placed (including time zone): 2030 hours GMT
Your side of the story:
Spawn.
not even after leaving shuttle Pax (ckey: IcePacks) started disarming me fnr.
Challenged me to do something.
Arrested him.
Gulag was disabled - teleporter dismantled.
Chem implants are broken.
Brig him 6 mins + 1 minute for challenging me as latejoin on the shuttle. Would have gulagged for 500 pts.
Someone friendly to pax breaks him out fnr.
Arrest pax and stop that guy. busy focusing on pax.
Can't brig him because no cells and that guy keeps coming back.
Put him in permabrig secluded whilst I figure out a way to contain him.
AI lets him out of seclusion without telling me.
Dannno demands that I change my sentance and says it's excessive. Explain the situation.
Go to extract Pax to reduce his sentance, find out he's been let into permabrig main area and tried to break out with another permabrig inmate.
Pax soap slips and starts choking me to death.
Sec officer backs me up.
Try to manually gulag pax. Shuttle isn't spaceworthy.
Arrest and gas pax for attempted murder with N2O which is non lethal.
Banned from sec. Round disrupted.

Why you think you should be unbanned:
All it takes is a lucky disarm to ruin my round.
Don't swing at sec officers/cops.
Don't attack people on latejoin shuttle.
Don't instigate FNR and ahelp when you get bitten.
Don't attempt to murder a sec officer when he arrives after you have an admin demand your sentance be lowered, then ahelp because you couldn't murder him.
This is a banbait. I feel banbaited.
Dannno stated he is unwilling to revoke the ban and I should contact someone with a higher rank than him.

I'd also like a copy of my notes and pax's notes for comparison because Dannno is unwilling to give notes which are important to my ban appeal.
This feels a lot like a non-antag clearly initiating a fight with an officer FNR, literally saying they demand escalation, continuing to escalate unilaterally, and banbaiting, with admins PKP and Danno happy to give the sec officer a week-long job ban for appearing to respond fairly reasonably to an unprovoked attack.

Whatever happened to "we're all imperfect people playing an imperfect game" and "start shit get hit", why was a ban needed here?

If shitters have griefed the brig to the point you literally cannot do standard sentences the gloves are off.

That ban stinks of circlejerk, to be honest. Nobody disputed Jmad's side of the story, so I assume he was telling the truth, in which case all of his actions are justified. He wasn't even being a shit sec, he kindly only arrested a greytider for engaging him and later gassed him with N2O for attempted murder. I am surprised no lethals were used at any point.

Why are we re-litigating a ban appeal?

Because only people involved can post in the actual appeal supposedly

So I noticed this at work and there's some things I wanted to say about it:

First of all, I had the ban sentence lessened. This is a particularly wild example of escalation, what with the teleporting bombs and fly-men. I was helpless at work when the ban was being discussed and chatted about it in adminbus.

Secondly and lastly, for fuck's fucking sake: get your brig repaired. Get out of your holding patterns, people. This is sad. If you can't spare the small amount of effort it takes to say ";Engineers to brig, we need repairs", or, god forbid, walk out to the grilles and glass that are STILL THERE and fix it yourself you have nobody but yourself to blame for the state of the brig. I've fixed it myself as a warden, there's a fucking toolbox right there in your office for you to fix it. Nobody else should have to suffer because you're too lazy to maintain a proper workspace, be they guilty or innocent. Don't just slam the shutters shut and expect all your problems to go away. I'm not saying it's always possible to keep a clean brig, functional brig, but since nobody seems interested in trying anymore, I'm afraid I can't spare a single shred of sympathy for all the poor do-nothing security that seems to think that they're the victims when they don't do a single thing about anything that isn't directly related to themselves or a round antagonist and get crushed by the sheer weight built up by shit they didn't bother to do anything about. Get over yourself.

>get disarmed once (literal 0 harm done)
>put the player that disarmed you out of the round permanently
>because it was n2o and not technically murder that somehow makes it ok

we already had this discussion
