I don't see how they're comparable other than being out of mode and obnoxious. The first case can actually be vocalized and understood as stupid sounding words. The second is literally just using different symbols to write out words but doing so in a needlessly esoteric way. One treats what is said as sound and the other treats what is said as text.

The best part is I've yet to have a human order me to not do it. Even if the cat in question is a member of security. They hate them as much as they hate lizards.
