the only thing wrong with this is that people could remove shoes to make said clown valid, I have a suggestion for that but that's more a coding thing.

They already get a serious mood debuff when they do so, why is more necessary? Besides, clowns are valid by nature.

clowns who take their shoes off usually just do it to get a faster movespeed, and ignore their clownish nature in doing so.
either they keep them on and the crew must suffer their antics, or they take them off and get beaten to death. either way, the crew is entertained.

So, it used to be valid, then it was mood debuff, now it's mood buff for having them on. Ultimately the decision was that clowns shouldn't be limited by their shoes when it comes to costuming.

I get that you're saying it's being used for mechanically scummy behavior, maybe their speed debuff should happen whether or not shoes are on?

Adding more convoluted situations of who's valid or not seems like a bad idea, let the clown dress up as he pleases.

The ruling was they don't want to restrict how you can express yourself as a comedian - forcing you to wear dumb shoes limits what you can do.

isn't there also a thing with digitigrade lizards being unable to wear the shoes so if someone made a lizard and randomjobbed into clown they'd be valid from roundstart
