Yeah, it could be funny, sure, but it means that a section of tgstation is totally dedicated to malicious posts, and someone will be dumb enough to click those. A laugh at a bot advertising cheapviagrapunjabi.tk isn't really worth the risk of getting your players cryptolockered.

for whatever reason the board isn't hidden for me. it should at least be hidden for players by default though. i have had to fight the urge to post on the board that clearly states that any accounts posting there will get pruned. it would be funny, but not funny enough to lose forum access over. the more people that see the board the more risk that somebody comes along and actually does it.

To be fair, If you click on those links, you deserve whatever super aids the bot gives you.

I see no benefit to this, and my experience with the forums was that I was banned for spam somehow before I had ever posted anything.
Plus if you see it as "if you click on those links you deserve super aids" then there's even less of a benefit, because there's an inherent risk by just having something on your screen that you can click mistakenly that's a hazard.
Complete waste of everyone's time and I'm starting to question why I even bothered typing this.

A link that /tg/ showed to you, and put right up there with the ban appeals, the players club, as a legitimate part of the forum. Maybe you don't know English well, and can't pick up on the red flags that the posts have. Maybe it's not even your fault - maybe your cat walked on the keyboard and you now have an unremovable anthrofur desktop stripper that's mining Monero. Yeah, we could make a usergroup that you have to manually join and hide the forum behind that, but for the board to work, it has to be publicly visible. So to make it truly opt-in we need to take the posts from that board and mirror them to another that's tied behind that -- but why bother ?

For all the reasons listed above (full of malicious links, posting in it bans you) we're not interested in making it widely visible.

As someone who can see bot posts waiting to be approved in FNR, they're also not terribly interesting. You get the same experience going through your email spam folder.
