Bring back Old Rule 3

I recently looked at the Rules page and noticed that the best rule we had, Rule 3, had been replaced.

Discuss: Should we add it back in as a new rule

"You are not in control of the situation at all times when playing SS13. Sometimes you just lose."

If you can add it to an existing rule, while making the text of both the bolded part, and the total rule length shorter than it is currently, then yes, otherwise no. I don't know if you've noticed, but the rules page is more akin to a short novel now. Adding even more text will not solve anything.

Yeah, there seems to be some common conception that dying is equal to "having your round ruined".

Dying in ridiculous ways if fucking epic. Yesterday I got disposal piped into the singularity and I couldn't stop laughing.

People should really stop being so mad about dying. Usually I Wish there were MORE extreme life threatening situations facing my character.

Dying ignominiously or FNR might ruin your round. Dying in a funny or badass way will make your round better.

Yeah it's ways like that, that happen completely by accident that are hilarious and usually don't ruin your round. When people are talking about their round being ruined they typically mean someone fucks them over. An example I went through once was where a shitter sec officer gulagged, full stripped me, and set me to wanted on the gulag so I could never move for no reason other than being a lizard, to the point that an admin had to physically respawn me because he couldn't get me out of the gulag in any other way. That's what round ruining is like.

It's not a rule. It's this game's motto. It doesn't belong in the rule list, it belongs in huge fucking letters over it, maybe with a massive TL;DR in front of it.

I don't think it needs to be a rule, but there definitely needs to be a "Tips for enjoying/understanding the game" TLDR at the start of the rules or something.

Maybe written by someone whos good at copy and can keep it short and sweet.

I'll just have it in copy+paste any time I'm replying to an adminhelp.

Or maybe we can get a button for it? 'Reject adminhelp' literally cannot ever have any use because it gives the freaking verb back to the person, who will, via human nature, inevitably, just keep pinging you with it. Again, and again. With nothing to deter or stop them from doing that. When the idea was to reject, not encourage.

Replacing it with a helpful and friendly popup that says "You are not in control of the situation at all times when playing SS13. Sometimes you just lose." would at least be more useful.

Actually making it a rule would make it more viable than a "tip" to get people to stop whining

you have mute buttons for everything including admin PMs, use that if they keep pinging

what if, after rejecting an admin help the next one they made could be permanently rejected with that popup?

That's a terrible idea, what if they have to adminhelp something important later in the round? A cooldown longer than the regular one would work better.

then they should not have been retarded earlier in the round.

The new Rule 10 has been added to reflect this sentiment.

Adding more rules is an absolutely retarded course of action.

that clearly states that he wants it merged in with an existing rule instead of adding it as its own rule

Seeing as the rule has been changed, I'm going to lock this. Please PM me if this was in error.
