im west coast US with 5 mb/s speeds at best and i had a very very very playable ping

What's the point on posting in a thread that's trying to make people brainstorm ideas to extend round times in general for all servers when the only thing you're doing is basically handwaving away the issue by shitposting about Terry?

Issue is, saying ‘just play on Terry’ doesn’t help with extending the round of other servers.

Though as someone who enjoys doing projects or working on getting the big rewards, I guess I should try Terry. Be nice if things were extended on other servers, but I think I’m kinda an outsider there. Some people like their go fast rounds. In the end, hard to make everyone happy.

Force the next quality of life changes be to everything that helps keep the station together.

Damage to the station is fun but it needs to be just as easy to patch up: cut construction times across the board, make some steps like lattice before floor tiles optional, blueprint following pipe and wire bots all kinds of madness.

Metal Foam and smart foam are nice but we obviously need to go further.

Actually put in policy against nonantags who call the shuttle ASAP just to reroll antag or IM BORED! Count AIs and people who order AIs to call it as well.

No I am not going to try terry my connection problems are bad enough without connecting to servers almost on the exact opposite side of the planet.

my ping is like 300ms which is fine because you know there's like 12 people and I fuck off and do construction in space anyways

Construction at the moment to me seems to be in a good place. If you're a cyborg, it's ultra simple to repair hull damage. I recall someone suggesting all bombs have the functionality of a syndicate bomb, where it could be disarmed. If the station is never damaged it'll be just fine.

I think buffing the SM to take longer to delaminate could be one thing, although I don't think that is the tipping point for calling the shuttle. Having some way for atmos to have an easier time managing multiple plasma and heat problems throughout the station (maybe a remote for atmos?). I think also having certain key figures having alarms go off when they go down (tracking beacon suit sensors send alarms to medbay that they're hurt), it would make it easier to maintain the station.

All of these in the end hurt antags though. Sabotage that can easily be reverted would be problematic, but the question in my mind, what could they do to prevent it from being fixed? Often sabotage isn't even fixed anyway so I don't think it would change the overall balance.

if you still think i'm shitposting, higher pop terry (which is around 30 players) reaches about mid-pop sybil levels (which is also around 30 players) and still has up to 4x longer rounds on average

just checked server stats and this is what they were at
consider also that if you switch from sybil to terry, the population of both will be brought even closer together. it's essentially just the sybil experience but with longer rounds.

Long Terry rounds are amazing. The community has really improved there ever since the first wave of griffers has been banned.
