You've just clacked your target in xenobiology with a revolver.
But oh no! What's this? The AI saw you!
Security are running to your position.
Luckily, you ordered the SSDK!
After a progress bar finishes, you have enough time to chuck your revolver in a disposal bin and wash off the blood.
Security comes rushing in, and you point at the body.
"He was a suicide. Was just extracting blood for slimes!"
Security search you, and let you go. The body is left for you to use for slime blood.
Nobody is none the wiser.

The Syndicate Suicide Disguise Kit!
A small box of essential tools to disguise a corpse as a suicide to any examination.
Make sure to clean up the blood on your jumpsuit!
Costs 3 TC, and changes examine text to suicide, is a one use item that is consumed on use.
Optional: Allows you to pick a suicide and alters the body to make it look like that. Ie: tank suicide, telebaton.
Perfect for keeping suspicion low and being the stealthy traitor hiding in plain sight.

He committed suicide with two shots at the back of his head, nothing to see here.

As for the idea itself, the suicide message is also meta-slang for "i can't be cloned". Unless that changes, this will probably be a too effective cloning prevention strategy since even with decapitation someone might try podcloning.

Suicidees can be borged.
And I think they actually can be cloned.
Even then, meta breaking traitor items are wonderful, it's why we can print shit from an emagged computer, it forces situations where the meta is challenged.

When I saw the title I thought it was a kit to let you fake your own death.

(faking your death and swapping identities with your murder-ee would... okay, that's just being a changeling at that point)

Actual suicide puts a NOCLONE flag on your body, so even if you're present cloning automatically fails to scan. Brains are not affected, so brain transfer or borging can work, but even then suicide effectively means a DNR.

Unlike other stuff that we want to metabreak, like antag items and such, this is meant to be taken as an ooc hint - that person left the game and does not want to come back. Metabreaking that means that people would lose time trying to revive suicides and potentially annoying people who just want to observe with resuscitation pings.

If we moved to a system where suicide did not set NOCLONE and it was instead a ghost pref, with the suicide message instead simply indicating the person suicided voluntarily, this item would be really nice.

Not sure I'm a fan of this

As mentioned before the suicide message is mainly to show "they can't be cloned" (and no, they can't be cloned/defibbed), it feels a bit weird to mess with that

@ above post, you could set that up, I'm sure, but it's a question of "do we want to" and not "is it possible"

at this point while shitty it's an OOC comment that says THIS GUY WANTED TO DIE, DO NOT ARREST PEOPLE INVOLVED AS THEY WEREN'T INVOLVED, AND LEAVE THIS GUY BE AND DONT EVER CLONE/BORG THEM.
Don't want too much confusion if this is changed.

On the one hand, it seems like just an easy gib with extra OOC protection. On the other hand, its stupidly easy to gib people anyway so meh.

not a fan, for the same reason i dislike giving traitors the ability to send centcomm messages. metabreaking items can be good, but certain messages (for example: like the suicide line, braindead line, centcomm messages) that are intended to give some hint of OOC knowledge (following the previous examples: this person bowed out and doesn't want to play/isn't clonable, this person is disconnected, the admins want you to know this) don't need to be metabroken.

yeah the intended part is the key word

while metagaming can be obnoxious, things like suicide/braindead are specifically created because it's hard to otherwise address OOC concepts IC
