Hairless hide leather = leather armor

Post by FantasticFwoosh » #280568

A certain amount of hairless (easily obtained just by using a sharp knife on goliath plates and or monkey skins) or dry leather hide that is treated with water & dried goes towards making some basic leather clothes with some brute force resistance.

This is your archtypal peasant getup.

> Leather sandals/shoes - slightly stronger than cloth shoes & wooden sandals.

> Leather breastplate, and gauntlets - cheap alternative but also slightly protective function.

Your filthy peasant m'lurd collection wouldn't be complete without this skullcap either

Alternatively you could construct all the already existing roman items (the headpiece, the armor, not the shield obviously without additional components like plasteel, even the sandals) because in the description they are described as being made mostly quoting the roman armor "Ancient Roman armor. Made of metallic and leather straps." using leather primarily. Just craft refined leather with metal sheets to make new roman objects.

Almost along the lines of advanced tribal crafting, if you want to compare the two (bones vs metal & leather) side by side, roman objects would be a lot more laborious & expensive to make.
