Regular artillery cannon

Basically a cannon you can drag around. Intended to fight threats that approach from space. You can load a rocket into it and when it's launched the rocket flies straight forward until it hits something and explodes. You can buckle people to the rockets before loading them into the cannon, and they'll go flying out with it.

Might be stupid but I just want to send spacemen flying before they blow up thanks

If you fire it at something too close the explosion will ignite the fuel trail and burn you up real badly

If you don't wrench it down before firing it's thrown back a tile by the recoil and fucks up anyone standing behind it

This is basically a mass driver with very weak toxins bombs. Mhmm.

We have nothing to shoot (biggest hole in this idea), and emitters also work like a charm. Low energy thread, i've heard of a more creative idea out of making actual cannons with cannonballs then using meteor code on them.

THOUGH, we do have mech missile sprites to use, but i think you'll need a more creative application of it. Last time i checked turrets were not 100% cross compatible with non laser weaponry or mech parts, that at more conventional exposed turrets like on syndie ships are non-buildable (excuse me while i hold that thought and post to the minor ideas thread)

Blobs
Meteor walls
Detained perma prisoners
The nuke ops ship
Into deep space at random in the hopes of blowing up a space ruin
Oncoming threats from down the hall
Down the hall for no reason
The possibilities are endless

Only if they approach from a 1x1 square in which place using a emitter is better, unless you had the option to swivel to aim the cannon from a fixed position.

Maybe the ammo for this cannon could be made up of two items. One would be the rocket casing, and the other would be the filling. There would be different types of filling, and the filling would affect the properties of the explosion.

I posted an idea in I think the shitty ideas thread a while back for a mortar for lava lands that launched gibtonite. Maybe this could function as another use for it. Gibtonite could serve as the payload for warheads and of course the less reactions the gibtonite has left the more potent the payload. Biggest issue I think would actually be transporting the stuff, unless you can put it in ore crates or something (never tried doing so myself. I usually just shoot the stuff and run)

But gibtonite isn't even a effective payload & there are other craftable alternatives in the same crafting tab.

It's an inefficient ghetto design that does not burn all its propellant inside the barrel and instead sprays some around to combust shortly after firing.
The shockwave from a nearby explosion will throw that burning shit back at you.

Need more headcanon for features that will never be coded?

As soon as he said it only fired rockets it became a rocket launcher and not a cannon. There is not a single cannon I know of that can fire rockets, though some can fire missiles in addition to traditional ammunition. Also no rockets work that way since they ignite their fuel to create thrust, they don't just spew it backwards like a bottle rocket.

Give the clown (roundstart/rare roundstart/cargo crate) a circus cannon.
Shoot people around for honks (and minor damage/stun), or emag to make it somewhat more lethal.
