A medical device that outputs a unhealthy amount of radiation, but allows you to in-depth study the anatomical insides of a ckey mob for a read out of all of their organs & implants as well as to study for anomalous objects/illnesses inside the body. This will allow you to find traitorous implants too.
As such you can remove functions such as medical scanners being able to study organs indepth unless they are critical and identify alien embro's early (and also not precisely know who's infected) as to encourage its use.
The radiation damage is split between half genetic damage and radiation damage, and will be worse experience subsequently for lings, as such a emergent strategy would be to pulse lings to make them weaker given their own abilities also output genetic damage, with relevant upgrades the radiation is reduced and the scanning process is shorter (it takes prolonged exposure to radiation for a full reading, reading into internal implants and traitor implants longer than a quick organ scan)

Get rid of genetic damage and its not the worst idea I've heard.

Does the soft antag-check gained from this benefit the game?

Re: Medical Equipment - Xray Scanner
No, you should not be able to fix it so easily, simply decreasing the genetic damage ratio (1/4) and eliminating the genetic damage first at about T2 parts, and radiation later at max parts would be a safe compromise i feel to removing it entirely.
For instance, abdominal pains & increased diet is a symptom of alien infection, dead bodies twitching is a headslug egg, and vomiting and emancipation is apendicitus, all things that would have to be confirmed in the X-ray to determine the current stage of progress for these organ issues. All of these will output the stage and give a ETA to when they are about to burst. You can even spot a ling prosbiscus if they haven't put it away if you look close enough.
But you never know, maybe you want to scan other mundane things like simple mobs for details.
Given you can soft antag check by cutting open everyone forcefully and having a rummage around in their guts looking for implants already, and its also a dangerous static machine that draws a lot of energy with a non-straightfoward methodical treatment for the side effects i don't think mass processing not at the most upgraded level will be a issue. The largest addition is that it makes doctors more involved with diagnosis, rather than just reading it from a scanner.leibniz wrote:Does the soft antag-check gained from this benefit the game?

i hope he means clone damage and not genetics damage.Remie Richards wrote:You really do talk nonsense.insides of a ckey mob
i also hope he realizes genetic ""damage"" was removed from lings.

Does it matter eitherway? It'd just need to make fleshmmend work harder. Such details are trivial but the cornerstone whether its just toxicity or anything more is that it makes you ill with over-use via radiation pulses.
