R&D

So like recently I've been trying to get into science and I must say, I hate it. R&D is either follow a guide or people get mad at you for not going as fast as a guide can get you through. So like, why even have R&D if everyone is just going to powergame, even the wiki basically encourages it, and do it the fastest way and get mad if you don't do it fast.
Or better yet why not make every item with a tech level vary by 1 or maybe even 2 levels so it's actually like, you know, experimenting and trial and error and actually requiring some human input. Like some kind of video game or some shit

This.. basically fixes the problem by disallowing just a guide to do this you've got actual trial and error as said above. You're actually putting effort into finding stuff now instead of just the same stuff which was the problem.
why is being unable to read a problem everyone has also this is under ideas is that not where this belongs

It should work like old goon virology except instead of viruses its items and theres tiers with times for every object and unlocking every object in one tier unlocks the next

ok
Make every item with a tech level vary by 1 or maybe even 2 levels so you're not always grabbing the same items every time and it feels just a little bit more fresh for a job that you do repeatedly over and over again, so it feels more like a bit of a challenge instead of a guide. Like genetics, even.
