Hippocratic ban

Post by J_Madison » #357026

An alternative to banning harsh players.

Medical doctor only.
Cannot harm or be harmful.
Cannot job change.
Must hep everyone.
Antag banned.

Because why ban and exclude players simply because they valid?
Why not just make them unable to hunt?

because the admins have determined someone is overall a detriment to the community and they shouldn't be allowed to bring the community as a whole down by being there

we all know why you made this thread

at what point does it take for someone to realize "hmmm i've been permanently banned maybe people don't want me here"

Rather than banning players for validhunting, force them to learn a lesson by putting them in the line that they put others in.

It's to rehabilitate rather than punish.

We can't solve player problems with code.

This area is code only?

My bad, move it to policy discussion.

This is solving player issues with both code and admin enforcement to create a better and humbler player.

Good thing JMad knows so much about good and humble players.

This is how our current system functions because bans throughout communities aren't synced.

If you get banned on /tg/, you can still play on another server and eventually use that as proof that you can follow the rules and be a good boy here too.

You might be a good boy, but it's boosting other servers population and based on their rules.

Medbay pop is low, unrewarding.

If they can't learn from their mistakes and validhunt under Hippocratic, ban them.

I'll take low pop with genuinely good players over high pop with dredges of the community.

We are not that desperate.

Reasonable, but a lot of players that could have reformed have moved on elsewhere.
When they do return, if they do, they might not necessarily be any better.

Thread has run it's course, the players and admins have different views on reform and punishment.
