bug zapper

Ordered from cargo for 2000 points. Wrench it down over a wire knot and it will tesla zap any bug simple mob, killing them. ie bees, cockroaches, butterflies, etc.

You can hack it by pulsing the right wires.
Wire1- Power, disables it. Pulse disables for 30 seconds and cut disables forever.
Wire2- Targetting system, allows it to target moths and flypeople
Wire3- Access. Requires botany access from the start since bees are botany's thing. Pulse or cut to disable access.
Wire4- Blank
Wire5- Blank

It does 48 damage per hit on flies/moths. Two hits won't kill them unless they have prior damage. Burn damage obviously. It can be upgraded with capacitors to increase the shooting frequency- default is every 5 seconds so a skilled hacker can run in and cut all the wires. Microlasers increase the power and scanners make targetting better or something.

legitimate uses: set up outside emagged holodeck to kill bees. set up outside of botany to stop bees from getting out. put it in the bar so flies cant vomit everywhere. funny executions.

Can it be made that things moving slowly(walking) don't set it off?

I like it, but it also need some events/gamemods, when pests are needed to be killed rapidly.

Well i'd be sort of pissed if i was running down the halls turn and around the corner is a zapper i fall over shocked and then get zapped again as i try to get up and escape. They shouldn't be near instant death machines.

The idea is hilarious, but damage seems a little high for something that denies an area and shoots an unavoidable zap beam.

Also simplemob bugs arent enough of a problem to warrant the intended use for this machine, it would be better off as a job specific traitor item. (and not able hacked of course because it would start with the dastardly features) Maybe botanist

cant you repurpose the tesla coils from the Tesla engine to shoot lighting anyway? I mean it doesnt just hit bugpeople but if you want to make a bugzapper you can.

yeah I dont have an issue with the bugzapper I have an issue with it specifically targeting mothpeople and flypeople when hacked

You can already do this using the parts from a tesla engine, can't you? Like they can be clipped and snipped so they shock instead of absorb energy?
