additional way to earn tech web points

i dont play science and i dont really care much about it either so im not very invested in this idea. it just seemed dumb the only way to speed up point generation was bombs.

make the amount of unused slime cores in the storage increase the rate of point generation while theyre in there. certain cores would give more points than others with grey probably giving very very little, as in not even a full point.

possible disadvantages: could make rnd scientists angry at xenobiologists for actually using the slime cores

counterpoint: conflict is part of the game and this adds !fun! new conflict.

other possible disadvantage: might be easy to cheese, im not sure how xenobio works so it might be easily cheeseable and i dont know it yet

More ways of getting points:
Ballmer peak exists but it's barely an impact
Rad collector tritium exists but it's also barely an impact
Tesla researchers are really good but tesla engines are never used
Tesla researcher + paper engine but using stuff that does damage (because of the nerf) works but has a long setup time and you have to babysit it and fix the grille

Also with xeno you get tons of cores so that would be very cheesable

At this point I'm considering just PRing the experimentor rework myself

toxins should be the only way to earn tech web points

anything else would be secondary, like engineering setting up a tesla engine and adding the analyzers just because they can

if there's a better way than toxins, toxins will go back to being an antag only thing

how about people learn toxins

First of all this is retarded because many people stated that they want to actually have fun while playing science instead of babysitting a console to click on a technode every 1,5 a minute

-give cargo random research packs that can advance techweb or unlock a random thing, make them limited and appear periodically over the round or better yet tie them into the upcoming bounty system

-autopsying corpses, maybe a point boost for different ways of death (idk if this can be effectively tracked in any way but different diseases, damage types, etc.)
-autopsying different types of mobs like lavaland beasts, xenos, slings, lings, etc etc

-sm anomalies (if they don't already I haven't played r&d in several years)

-maybe tie botany discovering new mutations of plants and stuff to it, deposit a seed not available from the vendor and you get a point boost for discovering a new species of plant

some ideas that encourage a little more interdepartmental cooperation
