Health sprite re-update.

Post by tedward1337 » #39733

I know that sprite changed has just happened for the health sprite, but I was thinking where we change it back to the old sprite, and show areas of damage instead of damage as a whole. I.e a characters left arm has been bruised, and turned a bit yellow on the sprite, but the rest of the body stays green. This could help the player just use a bruise pack, or burn ointment on themselves at a glance.

Oh my god that's actually a fantastic idea.

I'll admit the EKG's readability isn't that great, and people should be able to see what parts of themselves are damaged without 'examining' themselves.

Great idea man, I'll try to get this done before the feature freeze on the 4th of november. If I can't get it done before then (JJ has a HUD PR up right now so I might not be able to) I'll definitely put it on my list for december's features.

I'll also look into making the EKG/pressure gauge/etc preferences instead of default in case people end up liking them.

It could be a bit of both. The EKG on top of a human doll or generally around it somewhere so new players generally get a sense of how close to dead they are without knowing how much damage that is or how much damage they actually have per limb exactly.

But yeah the human doll idea is extremely solid.

No finding out where you're hurt should be arduous and clumsy.

Just kidding of course, I'm all for a better UI.
