Switch the shutter controls between botany and kitchen to botany's side

The cook has CQC, he doesn't need shutters protecting him. There are too many newly emboldened cooks starting shit with us in botany and then running and hiding in the kitchen when we start retaliating. Then they'll just wait for us to get distracted trying to work and pull their next move. They rarely use the shutters, they don't need to now. They're all dying for a conflict to come walking into their kitchen so they can use their CQC. Give the shutters to botany to restore the power balance.

Or just remove the CQC that cooks never should have had. I feel like the only reason we even kept it is because goof utilized the old tactic of introducing a hot pile of garbage (cook CQC) next to a raging dumpster fire (chaplain CQC) so people will be more likely to tolerate the lesser garbage. The kitchen is already a fortress with all the shutters and blast doors, they never really needed it for defense.

Yeah, after 20-30 minutes of non-stop work. It's not really about that anyway, it's about the fact that the kitchen is the one repeatedly trying to harass their neighbor. Botany is typically content enough to just grow super dangerous shit for the hell of it. We're lucky if we do before the round goes to hell half the time anyway (or if we aren't wasting time fighting off the cook's asshattery).

Again, after 20-30 minutes of non-stop work and a decent chunk of know-how. Cook gets antag martial arts for simply existing. Regardless, I can rarely recall the times botany started shit with the kitchen the way the kitchen has been starting shit with botany ever since they got CQC. Cooks straight up baiting botanists and trying to get them to chase them into the kitchen where their CQC works. And once you dunk them outside of their turf to get it to stop, they frantically run and hide in the kitchen and the vendetta never ends. It's just not good gameplay.

And Botany isn't closed off, on every station all anyone has to do is break a window to get in. I don't quite get how the shutters close off the room from a main hallway if botany is closed off like you say.

Unfortunately it's not always possible. If you're doing work in the side of the kitchen opposite to the front counter, you likely won't be able to reach the button in time for the shutters to close before the invader can climb down into the kitchen. Not saying that CQC is mandatory for chef survival, but shutter closure is only practical if you have a view of the front counter right when someone climbs up.
