Maybe, but you can make up an excuse about wanting something for self defense or that a borg was being weird, and you can just make flashes in maint robo.

Plus, having the tool be a flash is handy because it means all the same defenses against flashing work to prevent being converted.

literally any sec officer with half a working brain cell (which admittedly can be a tall order at times) is gonna shove an implant up the ass of anyone with a flash in their backkpack for whatever reason faster than you can say "shitcurity," slow revs can work but stealth revs is a meme since the jig is up the second you get searched
