Why don't we add a little pop up above the heads when the player pressed the "say" button to indicate that that person is going to say something soon and not go off into the hallway never to be seen again so you both can stop and have a nice chit-chat, also with this you can avoid the awkward moments were you both stand there without knowing if someone is going to talk or just standing there minding your own life

Some servers have this, Other byond games have this.

Precedent for this is that, on other action-filled byond roleplaying games, like MH. for example, when your talking someone can bash you with a bat or something. Since you're not ready for combat.

For this to be avoided, we'd need a new rule added like for example "You may only enter combat after using the me verb and writing out your attack." So the delay gets offset with a combat delay.

We've considered this before, I believe. It just isn't a fit for our server.

Aside from the fact that on other servers some people aren't massive douchebags, almost every single fucking server has a far slower movespeed. Lifeweb is a server where you can murder someone because "I'M ROLEPLAYING AS INSANE" and yet it gets away with having the talk popup because by the time you get your weapon ready to stab someone they've probably already finished talking.

go back to hotkey mode and hit T and O for all your speaking needs

Is it even possible to have the typing animation come up for non-hotkey mode say typing? I don't think so. I don't personally like the idea of having such a blatant difference between the two modes, especially since it would impact your ability to rely on the bubble appearing at all.

If that quirk existed. I would want a "Descriptive" quirk to exist as well. So you'd have to write out something using the ME verb before you attack.

We basically make more people RP with quirks

You can have a text window open indefinitely. Multiple even. Would it be popped-up permanently if I kept a window open for the rest of the round?
