So when you're picking a hairstyle or getting assigned a random one the one you get matches your character's gender. This wouldn't prevent people from picking hairstyles of the opposite gender, just give them the information needed to know if a hairstyle is male, female or unisex and prevent randomly generated characters getting odd gender non-conforming hairstyles.

Hah, good luck with that. Did you forget that the head coders decided it was a good idea to merge the non-binary gender option? You're not getting anything that might be considered traditional or conservative into the codebase any time soon.

that is what i currently do each round, but sometimes you end up with something that actually looks good and don't have to
i'd like to increase the chances of that

also, randomly generated characters like lavaland roles don't always have access to mirrors

really i should've just made the pull and skipped the thread entirely because they just attract bikeshedding peanut posters who don't play but want to shitpost anyway

I can get this angle. I remember maybe just this last year, this came up because everybody thought it was weird that the random human generator would spit out a bearded lady almost every time

Remember the Samurai and their ponytails? Remember rockstars and their really long hair? Remember the pre-sharp weapon days where I believe getting your hair cut at all was nearly impossible?

People had weird fucking hair back then. I wouldn't be surprised if people still have weird hair in 25XX, especially when cloned.

How would you even begin that process without pissing/peeving off everyone? Some hairstyles seem gender neutral as fuck while only a few can feel "yeah, that's more of a male thing than a female thing" This is assuming that most of the hairstyles defined aren't gender neutral. If 90% of them are then it probably wouldn't matter much in the end.

You can try to PR it however I don't see the use. Adding mirrors/razors to those mirrorless ghostrole spawns may be better/easier tbh.

you just mark the hairstyles male, female, or unisex
some people will disagree on which is which, who cares, they can still pick what they like

Just make it less likely to get random shit opposite the matched gender, not impossible.
