the ability to self-ooc mute yourself

Post by lutrin » #532524

in many a heated gamer moment do I find myself pressing o instead of t and then I get upset, but I also want to be able to see what my fellow gamers are talking about and join the conversation when appropriate

You, in fact, cannot.
Ironically this was the one thing I wanted to use the custom hotkeys for, too.

you can't because people had a whinge about the slight delay between pressing o and having an input box appear

whingers were correct, typing so fast that the computer drops your input is a terrible feeling and we should seek not to cause it

We should move ooc away from o though, its terrible placement and dropping the t input into a word starting with o leads to a lot of ick ock.

I have had this problem a couple times of talking and having my words appear on OOC by mistake.
Up to this point I haven't said anything remotely dangerous but I am somewhat afraid it may happen,
specially if it happens when one is in dead chat, where people do discuss things related to the round.
