Poriferans, or Spongefolk, are an extraterrestrial race of sponge-like humanoids. Despite their lack of what can be described as a nervous system, Nanotrasen has authorized Spongefolk to work aboard their stations. Spongefolk are naturally chipper and appear to have a fascination with cooking, and are well known for their love of making hamburgers. Despite this, the only sustenance these strange creatures require is water and the occasional bar of soap. Nanotrasen sensitivity guidelines suggest against soaking your spongefolk coworkers in water and then shoving them down and dragging them around the station. Despite being an incredibly effective way to clean floors, it creates a slipping hazard and has been known to cause psychological distress in these gentle, porous people.

Dear mom,

Life on the station is tough. A traitor tried to kill me yesterday. Still, I'm alright. See you in six months.
