Sounds good, so long as it doesn't cause anoying popups to appear, especially if it becomes the active window which is 10/10 annoying.

Open up the strip screen, and click an empty hand when you have something in your hand.

You just put something in their hand.

So a toggle like "Throw" where you'll automatically catch things? Except you'll automatically give someone something if they use help intent or a "Take" toggle on you? mitebcool

It's an RP thing more then anything. Right now your option is 'throw shit at spaceman's feet' Or forcing some shit into their hand.

As opposed to naturally offering something in hand, and the other party choosing to take it off you.

I usually just go "Hey, catch" and hope they understand that means to activate throw. Pretty decent success rate, though it is funny hitting people in the face with things.

if it were to be ported, please wait, Baystation have a PR up that improves the give command somewhat.

>window where you can accept or deny

if that's an input(), it steals focus and is 100% awful. it really really shouldnt steal focus.

We've been missing this feature for a really long time, and it's one of the few things that Bay does much better than TG.

Having to drag click someone is a massive pain in the ass and it's a lot easier to just type give and spacebar.

It's a trap! No but really you could totally see someone abusing the give active window by using it on someone and then bashing their face in while they're distracted.

And yet I've never seen it abused on servers where the give command is enabled, all it takes is you pressing enter anyway to make it disappear.

Most server's aren't populated with tg level shit lords though

nah, even if it's not abused intentionally, stealing focus is literally the worst fucking shit ever.

Meh, it's a special role volunteer-sized popup box with two options. That doesn't take up too much space, now does it.

this isnt about taking up space, this is about stealing focus.

It doesn't steal too much focus, either, unless you mean window focus. Which can literally be remedied in one click.

it's still disruptive as fuck.

As undisruptive as it can get, though. Especially when compared to opening up another person's inventory, as is required right now.

While stealin focus is annoying, it can certainly lead to some funny shenanigans. Offer your fellow employee an item with one hand and smash their head in via toolbox with the other. The ol bait and switch

Have you ever tried moving while some dong window tries to steal focus? It's the most rage inducing shit. Especially when it's something like a gas canister, which takes focus every fucking tick.

That is why, if I recall correctly, on Bay moving away autocancels the give command.

If they spam it either robust or Rule 1 them.

The worst offender is the borg module interface, because its something you'll want open all the time, but can't because it constantly steals focus - worse thing is updates to do nothing.

how about this

'give' command in IC panel --> message in chatbox, "Stan Assit is trying to give the corgi meat to Hedov Securitie."
if they're both on help intent, short delay and hedov receives the corgi meat (unless either party moves)

like the current strip-menu give, but more emulsion-abiding

yeah but this is exactly what we don't want, abusing out of game mechanics to gain advantages in an ingame fight

like handing someone a crayon or something while you esword them to death so they can't disarm you because LOL THE GIVE WINDOW IS OPEN STEALING FOCUS which ICly makes 0 sense and could definitely be considered an exploit

a window would be shit but i would like a give command implemented in some way

Just steal the give code from bay, Paprika steals shit from other coderbases shamelessly all the time, the give code from bay works fine and if you move the window auto-closes anyway.
