Well, I remember seeing someone walking around in a monkey suit the other day on Sybil, and I thought of the Ape species Idea. "whats the difference between ape and lizard?".
Well I feel like Apes and Humans could have either really hostile attitudes towards Humans, and Humans could have racial, and hostile interactions with apes as well. This new species could also bring an event to where the apes will overthrow the Humans and take control of the station, and pronounce Ape Station 13.
And since there is a lot of talk about bringing more RP to Sybil, maybe this could help.
Tl;dr Rise of the Planet of the Apes on SS13.

Please no more special races.

We have enough shit going on with Lizards as is. We have our human and we have our exotic space alien race. Different flavors of exotic space alien doesn't encourage anything new.

the only way this would work if they had some different kind of social standing than lizards, like maybe Nanotrasen has a high profile ape-man CEO and are trying to get these two groups who hate each other to play nice
but nobody wants canon backstory so that's not going to happen, they'd just be a second group of second class citizens

Emmag genetics consoles to get a new chromosome. Toggle the chromosome on a monkey to make it a money man. Monkeymen have the unique property of removing the effects of the genetic lobodomy that nanotrasen monkeys and monkeyhumans have. Thus the monkeyman will have a random ghost put inside them, and all monkeymen have the antag objective of turning all humans into monkeymen. Monkeymen blood is a unique regeant that has no effect on monkeymen, but turns humans into monkeymen. Therefore if a monkeyman gets their hands on a syringe gun they can become as round ending as singulo or xeno.
