Replace arrival shuttle with arrival transport center

Instead of having arrivals constantly destroyed, why not have a shuttle that never docks with the station, but a teleporter that teleports the crew to whatever beacon they need to go to?

Yeah, dumb things can happen to the spawn area that fucks players joining. I'd just make it indestructible, instead of throwing the baby out with the bath water by removing it entirely. I think by making it start in and then return to space the author of that PR sought to minimise the damage, but obviously it still happens sometimes. Then it remains docked for repairs, which don't happen.

part of the fun of late joining is walking through a completely tattered wasteland, notice how on a lot of maps how far away most departments are from arrivals--you get a great scenic tour through a destroyed station. not saying they did that on purpose but that's what's cool

At lest fix all of the firedoors and airlocks so you can open them by hand faster instead of being stuck in the airlock then sucked out when the shuttle leaves while waiting for the second one to open. Maybe add a "holo crowbar" that vanishes when you get far enough from the shuttle that any newcomer can dispense.

there was a level like this on the amiga version of heroquest (no idea if it was in the original board game), it had no corridors and the doors were teleporters that took you to other rooms
