Why cant your mind-datum be linked to multiple bodies

Like for example on a spider round, your body gets found by spiders and netted up. You play as a spider, die, and then someone rescues your body from the net. You can no longer play as a human anymore, even though your body has been recovered.
Just a weird issue that happens

Because that's not what a mind is. It's a representation of a single "actor" in the story, not a player.
Also because it's a conscious choice around how ghostroles should work. Taking one is giving up your part in the round outside of it and future side characters

yeah it's always been stupid bullshit taking a ghost role (or any sort of minor side role on the station) shouldn't prevent your original character being revived

No, Potato is right. There is no good way to evaluate & implement a "should a person deserve having their body link preserved" feature and it's clearly an awful idea to preserve them for everyone. Go watch the round or reap what you had sown.
