Bring back swarmers but without replication

See the title, I think the thing that made swarmers insufferable was that you could never get rid of them, there would always be one hiding in the vents and the thing starts over again.

If just 3 non replicating ones are spawned or something it would be fine. Maybe you can even add some other stuff for them to build with their material that isn't another swarmer.

the most recent iteration of swarmers only had the spawning beacon and that didnt change the fact that they only exist to eat things when people arent looking

Make it so swarmers die in a single hit and have no stun attack.
But also bring back the old style of players-only swarmers

No they wouldn't. But they would act as an end-state to over-using Nanites. If you over-use genetic powers and get too much genetic instability, you die (eventually)
If you over do Nanites, they overtake your body and turn your body into grey goo, nanites that can only consume resources and reproduce.

Nope. These swarmers would be back ups of the original player.

Science Nanites got removed: https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/pull/60473

Still could work using the Nanite chemical but only syndi borgs use that.
It keeps getting worse!?

What about a version of swarmers with:
-No self defense/teleport ability. They run or they die
-No power to destroy walls. Any type of walls (And windows)
-Only player controlled
-No ventcrawling (I think they had this at some point)
This turns them from bullshit eternal stunbeasts into more of a minigame for dead players to vibe with. Make them still drop Bluespace crystals and maybe whatever metal they've eaten too so people have additional reasons to hunt them

I still have PTSD from both versions of swarmers. Anything that re-adds them is too soon.
