We used to love the little guy so much that we made it so if you killed him you were instantly valid.

Now no one gives a fuck.

Remove Ian until we will love him again.

y/n?

I wouldn't mind if we replaced him with something that was actually useful. Like Sergeant Araneus on Meta, he's a freaking spider that can vent crawl and kill prisoners for interesting executions/pet food. Ian can't even attack at all unless he's player controlled.

You don't understand Ricotez, this is tgstation at it purest form.

"If it doesn't present some sort of mechanical advantage to me, remove it from the game."

Wear hats and eat twinkies, plenty of mechanics, you just can't powergame hard with them.

People who killed Ian-killers didn't give a shit about Ian, they were just using him as a vessel to gain the ability to kill people.

The entire point was that Ian was an antag objective and that you were supposed to get lynched if you tried to kill him without a way of getting out.

Now I'm curious as to how many people had their greentext denied because some asshole decided to kill Ian for the lulz before they got to him.

Well, since I think the actual objective was "steal a piece of corgi meat", having Ian be dead would count as a victory for a "Kill Ian" objective, even if you weren't the perp.

OP's got a point - nobody seems to give a shit about Ian anymore. Why?

But dear, sweet, precious Ian. Removing him would be removing the last shred of innocence we have left.

Because the HoP is no longer allowed to kill someone if they kill Ian, probably. That, or maybe people just grew bored of Ian?

>cute, but useless, mascot
>people, god forbid, role play, fawn over it, get attached to it, dress it up, give it a girlfriend, take it on the shuttle
>some players go out of their way to be assholes and kill the dog
>LOL BUNCHA VALID HUNTERS WHY ARE YOU MAD YOU DIDNT EVEN CARE ABOUT IT

I regularly get prayers to fix Ian, often after a trip to genetics has failed. I saw a round recently where the captain gave the AI Ian related laws and they spent the whole thing preparing for his birthday.

The amount of cyncism in this thread is too much, even for me.

I'll be honest, I used to be one of the biggest Iankillers and it's partly because of me that Iankillers are no longer valid. I've gained respect for the pup and thus would like killing Ian to be a crime again.

It's a tradition. A tradition I ruined.

It's pretty natural to lose interest in stuff. And while Ian kept being interesting for way longer than the vast majority of things on SS13, it's inevitable that the oldest of players will lose interest in him. This doesn't mean it's a general thing though. While some old farts will lose interest, younger players still like him.

There's only so many times you will find murdering or protecting Ian fun, but don't forget that there are many many other players, who have not reached this number yet.
