Make space lube visible
I don't have a problem with how easy it is to make, or how strong the effect is.
but can we PLEASE make it have the same tile overlay as water?

Re: Make space lube visible
This feels like it should be a feedback thread.
I'm in favor of it but don't care enough yet to make a PR of it. Only a few players really abuse this stuff, but it's still really out of whack for a mixture that takes no effort to make. It can also go from "OP" to "Broken" when unstunnable antags (Hulks, borgs, Lings) get their hands on it.
Making it visible is one of the best fixes. It is still very powerful because:
1) People cannot defeat it by /walking
2) People will think its water and /walk over it and git rekt
3) The stun is eternal and a few slips will fuck you up

Making it visable akin to water will still make it powerful, as people will attempt to walk over the 'water' and in fact end up slipping themselves right into the comforting embrace of a energy sword.

Re: Make space lube visible
How about this:
Make lube have less stun time. but make it stack with water so that lube+water = old stun time.
Then you can choose between an invisible slip, or a long slip.

Re: Make space lube visible
to be honest it would probably be easier to just code a new reagent that is invisible but doesnt slip as long

Very much this. Seems fairly reasonable to me.Steelpoint wrote:Making it visable akin to water will still make it powerful, as people will attempt to walk over the 'water' and in fact end up slipping themselves right into the comforting embrace of a energy sword.

Re: Make space lube visible
Tbh, making lube visible is a buff. The main thing with lube was that it was double-edged. You can use it defensively, yes, but you have no way of telling when it is gone so the user never knows if they can use an exit safely.
I'd recommend strongly against it.

Re: Make space lube visible
In some ways it is a buff, in others its a nerf. I would say it changes it for the better. At least it makes it possible to know when the lube you just slipped on has disappeared.Amelius wrote:Tbh, making lube visible is a buff. The main thing with lube was that it was double-edged. Re: Make space lube visible
Questions like "is it a nerf?" are silly. Here's the real questions worth asking.
Would it be more fun visible or invisible -
For the person using it?
For the person getting slipt and rekt?

For the person using it: Yes, they can now see their own trap and know to avoid it. They can also tell people that water is lube or that lube is just water for all kinds of shenanigans.
For the people getting slipt and rekt: Yes, they know to avoid the tiles and also know when the lube wears off so they can move again.

Re: Make space lube visible
Wouldn't the person who uses it after ages of slip shenanigans just remember where they put the drat lube? Or with more random delivery methods like maybe grenades predict the spread? HRRRNG IS BUFF assumes the person using it is incredibly stupid.

Re: Make space lube visible
Most people who are competent enough to use Space Lube are good enough to remember where they spray their lube.
Also if Lube is used defensivly then there's no risk to the lubber, since they're running away from the tiles they are lubing. Then throw in the benefit of your pursuers being slipped and slidding in front of you, awaiting you to deliver your justice to them as they're stuck on the floor forever.
