The should have this kind of control over their metalmen anyway so they dont have to drop everthing to lockdown a misbehaving borg.

It lets rogue Ai's hack it's borgs without needing the risk of leaving the borg console intact.
It forces you to blow borgs if the AI is rogue because you can't lock them down without it getting lifted 2 seconds later.
This is dumb.

If AIs have a built in robotics control console, what the hell is the point of a robotics control console? AI can just unlock borgs all the time and if you really want a borg shut down you'd have to brute force or blow it and no one wants to blow emagged borgs as it will remove the player from the game by deleting their brain. Also, malf ais can just blow the robotics control immediately instead of needing it intact to hack borgs. This is just going to destroy balance around sillycones and how you stop them when they go rogue.
