OOC flood limit.

Ok, so we get those annoying people who flood OOC with stupid messages (Mostly "JOIN MY SUPER KAWAII GOKU NARUTO SERVER!!!!!") until they are banned from time to time. It would be VERY easy to stop this, or at least severely reduce it, by adding a small limit, like, say, 3-5 OOC messages per every 10 seconds. Everyone who wants a legit conversation in OOC isn't hindered, and the flooding is limited severely.
I'm tired as fuck, so this idea probably isn't perfect. But if can be adjusted as needed.

No, absolutely not. It's gonna be annoying as hell. 10 seconds is a long fucking time. As a guy, who likes to break his chat messages into small ones, using pause between them for dramatic effect, just absolutely fucking not.

Turn off your fucking OOC if you're annoyed so much. That thing is there for a reason.

No offense to you because tons of people do that, but it's a shitty attention-grabbing gimmick that nobody likes. It's bad enough on IRC, jeez.

Alternatively we could raid ss13 servers that advertise on ours and set off maxcap bombs in the brig as non antag every round

There's already a feature to do this. It's turned off by default.

Eh, I do it mostly sub-conciously because it annoys the fuck out of me when I'm typing and and somebody says something so i have to retype my message etc :v

Exactly. It's not intentional, it's just how I roll in chats.

You seriously want to introduce feature designed to stop spam bots?

It's not hard to spambot either though.
There is a little-known command, '!', that repeats your last command.

Yeah I wasn't kidding
about no offense
It just
gets on my nerves
but
I guess
I understand
why people do it
like, everybody
bluh
And of course it's a vicious cycle, because if other people are spamming newline then you have to also just to be heard.

Is it really that hard to simply ban any offenders? I didn't even think this was a problem.

i've never seen this be a problem
this is what we in the trade call a "non-issue"

Well, if it's really not an issue, then that's cool. Just thought I'd throw it out there.
If nobody else has anything to say in the next hour, I'll lock this.
EDIT: Locked.
