BedSheetMagedon

So, I had an idea today, and it kind of blew up on my ride into work.

Bedsheets.

Bedsheets.

These are the most under-utilized, under-used item on the station, you can wear them as a cape, or put them on a bed. This would overhaul that.

Construction: - One bedsheet, use to bring up the construction menu like when you use a metal sheet.

Improvised Backpack: - Use one bed sheet to make an improvised four slot bag that you can wear on your back. The color of the bag depends on the color/style of the sheets.

Bindle - Construct on a table with an improvised backpack, a metal rod and cable coil. Sprite looks like a hobo's bag. Doesn't add any slots, but when you hit someone with it with help intent, it has a 30% chance of giving them a two tick stun, like a small banana peel. Does no damage when used with harm intent UNLESS there's a sandstone brick, sandbag, or metal ingot in it.

Cloak - Two sheets on a table via construction. Creates an exo-worn white cloak that has no defense bonus, but can be dyed in the wash with a crayon.

Bath Robe - Two sheets on a table via construction. Creates an exo-worn white bath robe with no defense bonus, but can be dyed with the wash and a crayon.

Luxury Bath Robe - Use a bath robe, three coins of any type, and a cable coil to create a luxury bath robe with a small defense bonus, but looks fly as hell. Can be dyed in the wash with a crayon.

Tear - Creates three small cloth pieces per sheet.

Cloth Pieces - Use to create a number of items:

Improvised Gag - Two cloth pieces. When worn on the mouth, it allows the person to still talk, but their words are muffled like when someone whispers. Can not speak over the radio with it on.

Improvised Blindfold - Two cloth pieces. When worn on the eyes, the wearer gets the 'whited out' filter on that people near death get in crit.

Improvised Bonds - Two cloth pieces. Can be used like cuffs, but only have a 20 second breakout time.

Hood - Uses three cloth pieces, creates a white cloth hood worn on the head. Has no functional defense, but can be dyed with a crayon in the washers.

Sling - Three cloth pieces and a grenade casing. When thrown, it knocks down the victim for 2 seconds, and does some brute damage. If there's an actual grenade in it, instead of an empty casing, it will go off when it impacts, with the full timer, giving the victim a chance to get away--but less of a chance. Unlike bolos, they don't attach to the legs.

Pneumatic Cannon Sling - Six cloth pieces and a phneumatic cannon. The cannon goes off on impact, filling the area it lands on (and the people it lands on) with shrapnel.

Stocking:

Use bedsheets on the clothing dispenser to re-stock taken clothing items, like filling an Autolathe.

Getting More Cloth:

Cotton - The botanists will be able to grow cotton seeds which can be processed into sheets.

Wool - Goats ordered from Cargo will be able to be sheared with a shaver or any array of bladed implements (on help intent), to produce wool which can be used to create gray bed sheets. Goats will re-grow their coat every 10 minutes or so. Pete will produce blood red wool, the color of a syndie hardsuit.

Fur - Poor Ian can be shaved to produce a corgi colored sheet. Ian's fur does not re-grow, but a sheet can be used on Ian to make him an improvised jacket.

--

What do you guys think? Good idea? Horrible idea?

Its rolls of cloth already a thing to at botanists?
(Altough you can make bandages with roll of cloth but gives you gauze instead really confusing ans misleading)

There we go. Use rolls of cloth to make bed sheets, alongside the other options.

You'd think improvised bandage would be obvious.

If we had more healing plants (maybe RE herbs easily grown in the public gardens) I'd say say make it so you can also combine them with bandages to make ghetto patches too for when those chemists are being fags or the medbay is unaccessable.

Cloth for torches would be nice. Let us use planks rather than logs too. Making torches from full tree trunks and space weed is pretty stupid

Thinking about it, you should be able to wear bedsheets as turbans.
Spoiler:
They should give +1,1,1 range to all detonations centered on your person and triggered by you.

Plus the bedsheet cloak has storage for 1 bomb

wetting them and wrapping them around your head should block/disrupt tracking implants

No, no, no, for tracking implants we need to add tinfoil.

I know I said I'd start spriting these last weekend, but I had an annoying hand injury (my dog bit through my fingernail, fuck it hurt) and I wasn't able to do much with that hand in regards to arting-- I'm feeling better now so I'll get on it over the long weekend.
