Scissors! Use em to cut stuff! Stab folks you don't like! But you gotta use walk intent with em your hand, or else you'll trip and stab yourself. The clown gets a pair of blunt safety scissors. He still trips cuz he is a dumb FUCK

The wizard, that motherfucker, he can summon a pair of CURSED VORPAL SCISSORS. The stick to your fucking hands and hurt like the dickens, but if you trip running you're gonna fucking lose a limb (besides the ones holding the scissors of course. Then the curse is too easy to get rid of.)

Why we need this? Because fuck wirecutters! They ain't shit.

you know I think I might actually do this but only if you tell me how to use a ventriloquist dummy I found one once and I like pressed z and alt clicked and all that and couldn't figure it out

Yeah I was thinking about this it'd be cool and I would have them be a subtype of wirecutters but I can't think of a clean way to do the whole chance of you tripping while holding them thing

You'd have to have a way to check for running, a check for moving while running, a separate check for being clumsy. You'd have to make this check every time you enter a different tile.

Which is why he said he can't think of a CLEAN way.
Checking on every movement is not clean.

The only clean way is to have a movement event/hook, and for the scissors to listen to that event/hook, except we don't really have hooks or events, DM doesn't have them and we've never ported any of the other SS13 codebase's attempts at them.

no really I can't even find dizziness code as if that would help the best i can do is make scizzors explode if you are on run

since most things don't slip you when you walk

this is easily doable, when you slip your held item's accident() proc is called, just make it embed in the person.

Should make sleeping carp turn them into extremely lethal throwing weapons that can even bounce off walls like the scissors in Postal 2.

SAC give specifics. How much force (melee damage) would these have? How about throw force? When a person slips holding these, what should happen to him? Automatic impale? Simply dealing its force to the mob as damage? How is this item acquired? Should it have use other than being a weapon? Do you have a sprite?

8 force, 12 throwforce, a slip automatically embeds unless they are vorpal, then it severs your other arm, legs, or noggin.
Acquired from the autolathe, maintenance, and art storage. It can be used to cut anything wire cutters can. I do not have a sprite.

that's pretty weak for something that will embed into you if you unexpectedly
