So a bunch of people have asked me when planetside 2 is, since they've seen me playing it on steam recently.
The answer is now.

I finished dl'ing 10gb of missed content so I might hop on later to test the waters and spend a couple hours fiddling with my settings. hopefully it runs as good or better as it did a year'n'half ago when I last played

I also don't know what it is about NC that I like, they were the first guys I played and tbh I've never even played a minute as a different race

NC has the best tank, bar none

The VS has an effective tank too, though, there's something to be said for AYY maneuverability

The TR has better infantry game. The whole game's combat revolves around how many bullets you can put into people faster than anyone else and the TR has a faster RoF. NC weapons just can't compare to how good the TR ones are.

Fighting the TR in close quarters is a nightmare.

Fighting them anywhere else isn't.

Close and Medium Range TR is a fight you're going to lose because of their combat medics having ridiculous guns. In long-range the VS wins but if it's NC v TR the TR is gonna zerg with combat medics and heavy assaults and roll over their infantry then tanks in short order. Their NCs air basically doesn't exist because the TR ones are so much better.

I still nee dto do the beginning tutorial thing.
I played years ago, but a random single dude decided to chew me out a little and I logged off when I didn't respond in built in voice comms quick enough(since i Hadn't set it up). I decided to pull full assistant and ghost until another day when I felt like it.

game runs surprisingly well, well maybe it was a given cause I was only at the warpgate. Now i've just gotta try and get this red tint off my screen and I'm set looks I'm going to permanently have red lines on everything rip maybe updating my drivers for once will wake me up inside

You`ll need:
1-6 Plasma tanks 1-6 Oxygen tanks
1-6 tank transfer valve
2 Plasma canister
2 Oxygen canister
1 Yellow (empty) canister
Wrench
Toxins lab access
Science testing lab access

Grab a oxygen tank and a plasma tank and bring them to the testing lab.
Super cool the Oxygen and superheat the Plasma.

Clean out the oxygen and plasma tanks with a filter/pump.

Then you wrench and unwrench the plasma and oxygen tanks in toxins. It`s important tha you do it one at a time. Try to get a 85%plasma and 15% oxygen mix.

Once you have a good burn mix, pump the mix into the burn chamber and light it on fire. Wait 10 seconds for it to heat up and pump it into a yellow (empty) canister.

Quickly set the kpa output to 163 kpa and fill the tanks with the burn mix.

Take the oxygen tanks and fill it up with a 613kpa worth of oxygen FIRST then fill the rest with plasma, you should get well over 2000kpa in the end.

With the new atmos system you should wait 5-10 minutes for you tanks to bake.

Take a tank transfer valve, add a oxygen tank and a plasma tank to it. You should have a maxcap bomb. Have fun blowing up the station mining!

Dezz and I ended up rolling together in a two-man tank team. I threw some dosh at my Vanguard to make it better (AP turret and Enforcer). Man, you blow up one fuckin' Magrider with that thing and it's an instant like...2k+.

On one trip out I think I made almost 5k from blowing up a bunch of random shit.

The four of us acting like morons and just zerging out of our Sunderer distracted the entire western front of the TR so badly another unit was able to ghost cap everything behind our line, then rejoin with our ragtag shithead brigade and steamroll over two more points.

I think that the Walker may be a better top gun for stand off sniping in the vanguard. Despite my higher muzzle velocity I was still not really able to control the increased spread of the enforcer. The enforcer is a beast of a gun when you mix up in close range, and the walker can shred through infantry nests at those ranges and try to take out those annoying ass planes to boot. Though the walker costs a small fortune in certs.

That said I had a lot of fun once we got it working and managed to smash some harassers and such.

Played a bit last night at REAL NIGGA HOURS
I went from BR 1 to 7 just defending a Kylor lab with an AT turret

Lost count of my infantry kills, but I ended 4 sundies, 3 scythes who wanted to sit there and MG the turret, 2 lightnings, and a flash

Phalanx turrets are fucking beastly. Sat in one on the crown and killed like four magriders and 10 infantry dudes with direct hits

Really decent all-rounder rifle. Bonus points that it unlocks for all factions, if you feel like rolling alts and playing with other people's toys.

Honestly the default GR-22 is fucking bonkers good. It's quite possible to outrace some TR infantry in CQC with it. Use with a reflex sight and a foregrip. You'll be a force in close quarters.

Looking at stuff on paper the A-Tross does seem like a pretty good choice if you want to be fighting at more intermediate and long ranges. Practice with that pistol though, you're not going to be happy when you turn around and see an infiltrator with a submachine gun standing there.

Sorry Wyzack the weapon loadouts keep changing from when I first played. What was default for me isn't default for everyone anymore. Saving up 600+ certs to buy a new gun for a class is a huge waste of points at first and I wouldn't recommend it at all.

If youre stuck on CM with the basic NC1 Gauss Rifle and you're like "Man this is shit!" my recommendation would be to get the 2x scope for it and then either a laser sight if you want versatility (ADS for long range targets, hip fire for close range targets) or the foregrip if you want to go all in on long range (or you're really good at scoping on people right next to you). The scope and the laser will only cost you 105 cert points.

People mumbling about the gun on the wiki say the 3.4x scope and a foregrip is optimal for this gun. That'll run you a whopping 130 certs.

with the amount of frames I get I just say fuck it and invested most of my pre BR15 certs into shotguns. I can't kill people with smg/rifles but spam click that shottie for mad kills. yeah I can't do shit even with slugs at any long ranges, but I can't see people that far away from me anyway lol

also last night when we were playing I reached BR15 and my game froze so I couldn't reset all of my cert points. kinda pissed me off. not a big deal but it would have given me back maybe 300 certs from infilitrator/jump jets

I think with like...two fit Vanguards, a fit Sunderer, and a total of 6-7 players we could rule the world.

Vanguards fit HEAT rounds and anti-personnel turrets.
Sunderer fits two AA turrets and Ammo supply.

Everyone is an Engineer. Everyone maxes their repair tool, explosive armor, and then the "repair shit while inside a vehicle" passive.

We roll out and never stop.
