all of a sudden a moment of genius strikes

striding confidently back to the door you couldn't get past, you turn the knob, and pull

the door swings open

what do you do

EDIT: and yes I know most doors irl don't work this way it was for a dumb gag

my friend who I ran through this with actually figured it out by mistake

I even drew a damn picture AAAAAAAAAAA
Drynwyn wrote:realize that the individual things on a rake are called "tines"

you feel grateful to the voice in your head granting you the wisdom to know what tines are called

giving a cursory look through the open door, you see a fair sized courtyard

ivy is also on the walls here, and the flowerbeds have begun to spill over with flora - you can hear the hum of insects in the bushes

obvious exits are to the south (a large gate) and west (a door to another room in the house)

yeah it was a gag and I was hoping people would pick up on the slightly larger font size on PUSH but we got sidetracked

you walk over to the door

it's slightly ajar and a faint light is visible through the crack

you're trying too hard, it's just a normal rake

that being said you BOOTFUCK the door open with no regard for whatever is on the other side and charge in, rake raised

BOOTFUCK tally: 1

you see nothing that immediately wants you dead

there is a fireplace on the back wall, in front of it sits a large ornate rug

the fire crackles in greeting

there is a table in the corner, but you can't see if there's anything on it from here

I was referring to the fact that you're calling it "ye" rake, the rest was fine

you walk up to the table slowly

the fireplace crackles at you as if you're behaving oddly

you see a shard of metal on the table

it looks almost like the head of an ice pick, though it's a bit too small for that

use the metal shard to chop off the rake part of the rake, leaving you with a wooden pole

then take the metal shard and cut a notch down the middle, then go outside, use the metal shard to cut down some ivy, then lash the metal shard to the end of the wooden pole

use some of the ivy for a grip too for extra rake action

you get the metal shard

the fireplace crackles as if it's happy for you

you walk over to the fireplace and take a look

the fireplace crackles as if happy to see you

there's not much there but a fire
John_Oxford wrote:use the metal shard to chop off the rake part of the rake, leaving you with a wooden pole
you consider attempting to hack the rake end off of the pole like a retard before noticing the head screws off
bandit wrote:oh, the zork room

you lift the rug, sighing at the cliche as you find a trapdoor underneath

the fireplace crackles its assent
XDTM wrote:Look under the table, maybe there's a small ice pick stuck from below
considering the fact that you already grabbed the metal shard, no, there isn't

you begin to question this voice in particular, wondering how the ice pick in question would even have penetrated the table like that

you see a piece of chewed gum stuck to the underside of the table
Grazyn wrote:>examine bushes
you head back outside

walking over to one of the overgrown areas, you accidentally kick something

shoving some brush aside you see a very low bench underneath all the bushes and shit

the buzzing is much louder over h-fuck did you just sallow a fly oh my god fucking gross

quickly recoiling and considering the likelihood of that specific bug having some deadly disease you note that there isn't much there but some plants and the aforementioned bench (which is pretty much a slab on two stump sized pillars)
John_Oxford wrote:then take the metal shard and cut a notch down the middle, then go outside, use the metal shard to cut down some ivy, then lash the metal shard to the end of the wooden pole

uh

you can do that but I guarantee you it won't be as sturdy as you think it is

you stroll over to the gate

it's fit very snugly into a hole in the wall, and there's not enough room to squeeze through the bars/over/under/whatever

it's got a comically large padlock on the latch with a comparatively tiny keyhole
XDTM wrote:open the trapdoor and look down with the lantern
as you turn from the gate you see the courtyard from a new angle

there's a grate to the east of the door you came from that you didn't see - it looks set into the ground, but you can't make out much detail from here

you see a young tree growing behind some of the bushes

you head back to the rug and attempt to pull open the trapdoor

to literally no one's surprise, it won't open

you note that a lock is set into the trap door
